Anyone tried AnOther 13? im getting a sample
Love it, definitely a frag you have to try on skin tho. Smelled damn near nothing on paper

Yeah you’ll be set for a while just trying the brands they offer. Great selection
Always let them make 2 samples at least from any frag you want when you buy something. They dont mind filling up samples if they dont have official ones to give

Didn’t ask for anything but they gave me MFK Satin mood and Creed Silver Mountain Water

i don't fully understand why that one was discontinued
i don't fully understand why that one was discontinued
“Like Absolue Pour Le Soir. I sold 28 bottles of that last year. In the whole world. Once we said that we were out of stock and we would be discontinuing it, people tried everywhere to buy it. But the sales don’t go with the number of people trying to buy, so I don’t understand. I’ve produced Absolue Pour Le Soir once in 7 years. I’ve just approved a new batch. And I love the scent. But commercially it’s a total disaster.”
tml will find the most niche publication with an interview of a perfumer
nah this time it was just the first review on fragrantica lol. But yeah frags dont get discontinued if they sell well enough. Even if ingredients get banned, they’ll reformulate it and keep it on the shelves

that's crazy. tbf though i wonder how much of the issue is marketing or availability. like when they say 28 bottles in an entire year, i have to assume thats because unlike br540, it wasn't available at places like Saks/Nordstrom/Neiman Marcus/etc. (at least afaik). even on the direct MFK website there's some scents i legit didn't even know existed until i went to directly look for the full catalog (example: Petit Matin).

from the comments, it has a dirty animalic nuance in there somewhere, thats what interests me. I remember Musc Ravageur has an animalic musk mixed with vanilla and cinnamon. That was thee "panty dropper" and the hypebeast 10 years ago. Both of these are probably not sexy, but rather sexual in the dirtiness
Also APOM and Lumiere Noire are discontinued, i love APOM tho its gorgeous. MFK realized the cleaner easier stuff sells more than the artistic stuff.

ive noticed a lot of these brands doing mainly cleaner & more straight forward scents over the past few years. even ones like CdG have been playing it super safe but i understand the economics of it

i still have to try CDG, didnt try anything except for Floriental. But its a shame, 2000s were full of amazing designer releases that were worth the money. Gucci Envy and Gucci Pour Homme 1 were masterpieces (thanks to Tom Ford). Dior were releasing groundbreaking stuff also.

cdg still has some nice stuff (i like the incense line and have mentioned it several times in this thread), but at one point they were doing some weird af stuff - odeur 53, odeur 71, daphne, cdg 2011, synthetics

Im almost certain he’s talking about selling that amount when it was readily available everywhere. Petit Matin also gets lots of promo, it was released along with Grand Soir as the morning version
Petit Matin - Early Morning
Grand Soir - Big Night

i wonder if unironically pour le soir would have done better if it was released now vs then, just because back then there wasn't this whole stimulus of fragrance influencers + tiktok algorithm stuff. feel like thats half of whats sustaining a lot of these most popular scents these days
