It was very easy because the brief was about the idea of musk, of âclean sweatâ and the idea of sensuality where you want to practically bite into a manâs skin. It wasnât about dirty things, it was very bright, and also a little bit retro. The idea for Le Male was based on a menâs hairdresser in the â50s â these were full of the smell of lavender, which is where the perfumeâs main lavender accord comes from. Itâs reminiscent of a very good-looking man taking care of himself; kind of preppy, but in a Fifties and Sixties kind of way.
No, because I was never meant to create the perfume. I joined the business in 1994 when the briefing was issued. I was not hired yet, as I didnât have the status of being a perfumer, no one knew me at all. I managed to meet the director of BPI who managed the license. And she let me work on the project as a student training exercise. Up against me were major talented perfumers all over the world â being such an iconic brand, everyone wanted to pitch for it. I pitched because I was given the opportunity to â that was it.

anyone ever order off jomashop? i copped a watch from there and it was painless but fragrances might be a little different
very easy and straight forward. just make sure it says in stock when you buy, cause they backorder a bunch

Classic frag with some even more classic fragrantica reviews
This was my first ever 'aftershave' that i asked my mum to pickup for me during my final year at school. It cost me ÂŁ40 if i remember correctly. I had a 75ml bottle made in 2004. I would go on holiday to Spain every year and the owner at the bar would wear this. An old, mafia looking guy, but very friendly. He would always smell fantastic.
Unfortunately, it never smelt half as good on me.
I remember one day at school, we were queuing for class and the best looking girl in class said "who smells so good" i thought to myself, OH YEAH. But no, it was another guy wearing joop and she proceeded to give him a long hug...
I didn't wear it much after that, until about 10 years later, when i started dating. (Yes, i had a hard life haha)
I was feeling extra lucky one day, cleaned my room and sprayed this all over my bed. Sprayed myself and went to the big city. I managed to bring a girl home, we had a week of lust but she turned out to be quite evol.
I never did wear it much after that as it reminded me how much i hated her..
The liquid turned a green/yellow colour so i sold it on ebay as "vintage"
i got a letter a few weeks later from the postal service saying that it had been destroyed as it wasn't packed in the original box and broke the terms and conditions.
I swear the bottle i had was cursed.
Sometimes i wish i still owned it, sometimes i think I'm better off without it. But there's one thing for sure. I'm glad i didn't go with joop. Le male had some class and was ahead of it's time.
A true Classic

that scent's never coming off of those
i never spray that stuff anywhere near my clothes because the scent sticks on it forever. idk what they formulate it with but its probably the strongest scent on the entire replica line
