Agree on the Pure Havane is similar to Naxos, I've got PH but really do want a bottle of Naxos, I dunno Naxos is just nicer to me I also did pick up my bottle of Grand Soir, out of this world juice and lasts so damn long

MFK better f***ing not. I was obsessed with Jean Paul Gaultier 2 (Francis made it) in 2005 when it came out, it was all I wore. They reformulated it in like 2011 I think I and it was never the same for me

Then when I found Grand Soir last year it was an even better JPG2 on steroids. If they change it I might cry

Francis: In 100 years time we won’t be able to reproduce the original Le Male, as the materials won’t be there any more – you just need to look at the history books with other fragrances from 100 years ago. We can produce something like it, but people won’t know what the original smelt like to be able to compare.

Reformulations are inevitable unfortunately, especially with the new IFRA regulations perfumers have until February 2022 to reformulate all their current fragrances.

Someone I follow on IG keeps mentioning that the MFK fragrances will be reformulated soon but IDK if true or cap

But who knows, if the MFK fragrances get reformulated, they might still hit or get better
Changing a formula slightly doesnt have to be for the worse.

I knew about regulatory bodies in perfumes- like in all industries with ingredients and chemicals but I didn’t think about reformulation arising from ingredients being deemed toxic above certain levels. Makes total sense.

I work somewhere where I get 25% fragrances so could buy another bottle of Grand Soir before I leave in Jan but my first bottle’s almost full so it feels pointless. I wonder how many fragrances out there will change due to these new rules coming into effect. I’d suspect not many due to scientists working with perfumers every step of the way to ensure consumer safety. I’m sure in perfumery it’s not normal to use ingredients close to levels deemed toxic/harmful much like the food industry where the dose of sweeteners for example in diet drinks is so minimal that it’s virtually impossible to call them toxic

Yes it’s an absolute dream, strong floral notes and lasts almost all day for me. I’m a woman though and haven’t smelt it on a guy before so if you are a guy, try it on your skin first as it’s expensive to buy. I loved Fleur Du Male by JPG and this for me feels like a more feminine version of that. So if you like that fragrance you’ll probably like this too
