Just tried Parfums de Marly's Pegasus.

I love the metallic almond with that blend of vanilla. I like that it has a smoothness to it's sweetness, not too overbearing but definitely enough to where it's effective. Although, I think I still prefer Layton.

It's a classic men's fragrance with an oriental touch. Not as balsamic-y as some of Amouage's offerings but it screams regality.

Mon Nom est Rouge:

Imagine if someone made pop soda concentration out of potpourri. Rose-Incense combo with notes of ginger, cumin and pink pepper.

Ani:
Vanillic Cedrat Boisé.

Amber Aoud:

Need more time with it.

Sandalwood x Basmati rice

Yeah I saw this around i wonder what profile the rice would give the Sandalwood.

Honestly, I found that Sandalwood (Australian) by itself is decent, it’s soapy. Mysore Sandalwood (Indian) on the other hand is much creamier + sweeter imo.

Where you copping your oils from?

Local middle eastern place near me, a grocery store actually. They get rare s*** from back home sometimes, not too high end but satisfies the craving.

Go to the middle-Eastern store near you & check if they have an Attar section.

Nah only time I created frags was at this lab we have downtown - not on my own.

Didn’t fw with the vibes from the intern/junior perfumers though (owners were cool af). Long story short the lil boys f***ed up the batch I was working on & I said fk em.

I want to professionally learn first about perfume-creation, might even take chemistry if need be. (Just cuz you know it smells good, don’t mean you know how to make it )

I get the saffron, fig and rose but i'd say that the oud and ambergris in this are the main players. Not something i particularly like as of right now. Smells like a very oldschool chypre with an oriental touch.
