just got my sample in and it smells quite pleasant actually, but a tad too fresh for my taste. perhaps too fresh and airy for me to even wear it.

i've grown a strong fondness of stronger fragrances, esp rose ones so this one is a slight disappointment, although it doesn't smell bad at all

Do people not realize that Versace Eros is actually pretty similar to Mugler's Alien Man? Kinda shocking that the former gets so much praise and you don't hear anything about the latter at all when they're so alike

Received my bdk samples. The mandarin note in Crème de Cuir is too heavy on my skin unfortunaly. Not a note I like in fragrances. Expected more leather.

Gris Charnel opens up with a blast of sandalwood. Kinda like the sandalwood essential oil ive smelled before. But as it dries on your skin it keeps getting better and better. 15minutes in and u get the spices, a lot of sweet vanilla (from the tonka) and fruitiness mixed with the sandwood. Kinda get a milky accord too. If u want a creamy sandalwood fragrance thats not too heavy/thick this is pretty much perfect

    Sephora (B&M store)

Check the manufacturers website for samples as well.

    APPLICATION
Depending on the strength of the cologne, use anywhere from 1 to 5 sprays. Most people go with 2 or 3 sprays. If the strength of the cologne is an 'eau fraiche', you can easily use 3-5, or if the cologne itself is especially light. If the cologne is of perfume strength or is a winter scent, use sparingly. Typically, heavier scents like those should only be sprayed 1 to 2 times.

The frag in question should be sprayed on pulse points, or points on the body where there is a pulse/vein/major artery. Spraying on this point allows the cologne to develop properly due to it being heated by the pulse point. Some claim this is broscience, but it works well for me and many others. Usual pulse points/application spots include the sides of the neck where the carotid artery is, the base of the neck, the back of the neck (more rarely applied here, good for people to smell you after you pass by), the wrists, the inner elbow inserts, and the back of the knees. Experiment with it and see what works for you.

    STORAGE
Ideally, you should store your fragrances in its box if you keep it on a dresser etc. If you keep it in a closet, the box is unnecessary but keep the lid on. Never store it in the bathroom or in direct sunlight. Has to be a cool and dark environment.

    INCREASE LONGEVITY
It is very common for people who have been wearing the same perfume for a long time to become desensitized to its smell. This might be your case. Another reason to why perfumes do not last on you could be that your skin is too dry. If that is the case, apply either an unscented body lotion, or one that matches your perfume. You might also spray some on your clothes, but not on light colors, since it might leave a stain. Olfactory fatigue is also a phenomenon common with fragrances, especially Creed Aventus. To prevent this, try to apply the fragrance as far away from your nose as possible.

    FRAGRANCE TERMINOLOGY
Split: An event where a host buys a large quantity of a fragrance (usually high end/expensive) and divides it into smaller amounts to make it more affordable for people who don’t necessarily want a large amount.
Decant: To divide up a large quantity of liquid into smaller batches.
Flacon: A large stopper bottle or flask. Usually in reference to the large quantity of a fragrance to be decanted into smaller amounts.
Atomizer: A device uses to convert a liquid into a mist. ie. the sprayer on the top of your bottle.
Notes: The description or breakdown of what is smelled within a fragrance. Broken down into 3 stages: 1. Top note (opening), middle note, base note
Gourmand: A fragrance that contains food-based notes. Colognes/perfumes that taste edible. ie. vanilla, mint, chocolate, coffee, cherry.
Projection: The distance a fragrance travels. How far away can it be detected?
    Longevity: How long it lasts
    Parfum: (15-30% perfume oil)
EdP: Eau de Parfum (8-15% perfume oil)
EdT: Eau de Toilette (4-10% perfume oil)
EdC: Eau de Cologne (3-5% perfume oil)
Sillage: The trail your fragrance leaves behind.
"Blind buy": To buy a fragrance without sampling it or having no exposure to it. (never recommended)

    GREY MARKET
“Why is x fragrance so cheap here, is it fake?”. You have most likely ran into a site that sells grey market merchandise. Sites like FragranceNet, Notino and FragranceX usually sells these. They are 100% original, but the history of the goods can be questioned. They are usually not from the supplier (the brand), instead, they have been bought from another retailer that has had problems selling all of their stock. They buy them at a discount from them, so they can lower their prices and still make a profit when selling to us. They can be a bit older or have dinged up boxes or possibly even stored improperly, but they are 100% original. As usual, if you suspect that the online store is still suspicious, google around or ask in the thread.

My review of Chergui by Serge Lutens

Notes: Honey, Tobacco leaf, Iris, Rose, Hay, Sandalwood.

    First spray:
For me, it opened up with an intensely bitter but fine Tobacco leaf note, mixed with sweet Honey & a small hint of Rose (gives it almost a baby powder accord strangely, but darker - most likely due to the Tobacco leaf).

    After 1 hr:
Iris is heavy af, smells very powdery + soapy due to the Sandalwood. ALSO, the KEY of this fragrance rests in it it’s subtle Hay note. Yep, you heard me, Hay. It’s VERYYY MELLOW.

    Post-drydown/final verdict:
I’m gonna have to wear this more, no excuse. To the untrained nose, this’ll either smell like burnt makeup/cookies, or a cakey tobacco...

Final for now: 8/10 . Solid frag for the price point, but definitely not for everyone.

Only wear this if you’re a pretty boy but also masculine af.

Sniffed my wrist this morning.. honestly it takes a LONG time to drydown & get to its final scent. Now there’s some solidness to it that there wasn’t before, like.. it smells like.. a melted honey cake.

Put this on like 2hrs before leaving your house lmaooo
