it smells way different and i get why fans of the original are upset but it’s a really nice modern fragrance from someone who’s most popular work is sweet amber scents (le male and flankers, br540, grand soir, etc)

Yeah I figured. Fragrance enthusiast just hate seeing changes. I never used to hear/see people talk about the oud note in DHP and now everyone is talking about ‘bring back the oud’ lmao.

I havent smelled it yet but what I think Francis did is give his take on the Dior Homme line and not ‘reformulate’ Dior Homme Parfum specifically eventhough they share the same name

I did not like DHP at all so this is heartening to hear

yeah like honestly i wore it out tonight and it’s not a powerhouse like the old one which honestly was stinky to me and i love DHI. it’s a francis banger he knows how to make nice ambery scents like le male, br540, grand soir, gaultier2. smells super fresh and clean but has some sweet amberyness that’s kind of addictive and a really buttery iris and some like almondy or pistachio note that’s not listed idk what it is. if you look at dior homme’s recent shows and look at some of the hollywood it boys it kinda fits with all that i think a lot of people are gonna like it

it smells closer in spirit to the idea old dior homme which was iris, amber, and woods than the 2020 regular dior homme does which is like a woody spicy frag now. the SA gave me a travel spray i’m gonna start wearing it around
