some artists just cannot handle the pendulum swing away from them - I feel like there are 2 schools of artists here. One which takes it as a challenge and makes something really different from their old material, and the other in which the artist gets suffocated by their own material and they're too stubborn to change in any substantive way

They still pop up on the production credits of super high profile stuff (last Selena Gomez album, katseye music, last lil uzi album, that Brent faiyaz album that just came out, SZA deluxe from the other year) but that seems like it for now.

It’s like listening but not seeing an 8 bit video game . Progresses throughput 12 minutes zz recommend headphone or car . Wish it did a little more personally . Reminds me of iglooghost beginnings in a way . Some ideas it feels like once it gets into it switches . Hard to describe .

Concept-wise I appreciate what he was going for (fast-paced, high energy, kinetic). I just didn’t really connect with the execution.

He’s still a legend in my eyes because of his earlier works, but to prove that he’s not washed, he’s got a tall mountain to climb unfortunately.
