Even though I like the tracks I can understand long time fans being disappointed by how...I guess "weak", "simple", or "generic" they sound. These are definitely not tracks that evoke the kinda spiritual or emotional feeling that songs on Until the Quiet Comes did. They aren't challenging the listeners like You're Dead did. They aren't hitting the rhythmic nuances of a Cosmogramma.

Where I felt like Flamagra was a merging and celebration of all these different aspects of FlyLo's big albums, I am getting the vibe that this new album is going to be a streamlined version of these aspects. And while the songs might hit the kinda expected beats you've come to expect from FlyLo, it's that something special, that connection that we've felt more than heard from his music, that has been missing so far.

This can all change when the album drops of course. And while I enjoy the tracks for what they are, I'd be lying if I said that these are tracks that are gonna live with me long-term.

I’m starting to think one of flylo’s best talent is curating his huge music library to make classic projects. He’s released a few loosies throughout the years that obviously weren’t on par with his album songs, but fans never held it against him. This time around, it’s been years since we heard from him and the first 2 singles were presented are mid af by his own standards. And it’s pretty clear that musical creation has taken a backseat while he’s getting into the film world. I’m not expecting a classic this time around, just give me something on par with the Yasuke soundtrack n we can call it a day

mid singles , he been doing tv shows and movies which I respect is your passion but you dont have to drop just to drop that is what these feel like. No passion. Doesn't want to even do. They feel contractual so that he can tell his label he dropped music. If he passionately works on something and its not for me thats one thing but I dont feel it on these twin peaks or not. No idea what it ties to. No captain murphy. LIkely not an album. No features that he is often amazing at bringing the best out of others

I lowkey think the conceptual/thematic stuff is behind him after Flamagra. The way he describes the new one is basically an ambient collab project with Miguel Atwood Ferguson with few beats

Kinda disappointing because he's capable of doing so much more. But I get it. Dude has been putting out albums for almost 20 years now, each one with their own specific concept and storyline (moreso on Cosmogramma and following projects). I can totally understand that after awhile, dude just wants to go back to the basics and simply make some music. Even moreso since he has his hands in directing television/film now.

I'm sure he still loves making music. But I'm also sure he doesn't have the same sort of super creative focus on music like he used to. If Flamagra and Yasuke were the swan songs of that side of him, those are some pretty great notes to leave on to me
