king krule, dean blunt and yves tumor are kendrick, drake and cole for mysterious music
lmfao
10+ listens and I’m still forming an opinion. It didn’t fully connect with me at first, but neither did Man Alive - at first I thought Space Heavy was too similar to MA sonically, but it’s actually really different.. Probably his most straightforward album.
It also feels very small-scale? I can’t describe it very well, but his other albums feel vast and a world of their own, and while this is still deep, it’s maybe his most personal and intimate? This isn’t a bad thing.
No bad songs, though. I will say that I wish If Only was the closer, but Wednesday Overcast feels like a nice credits roll.
I think that I need to live with this album for a little while to really have a solid idea of how I feel about it, while The Ooz clicked instantly and is still probably my favorite of his (along with ANP2D), but like I said Man Alive took 6 months to really hit me.
Right now I just know it’s beautiful, warm, grounded, with contrasts to all of those in-between the lines.
Archly blessed us again. GOAT.
Wednesday Overcast has to be the closer. Just from a lyrical/thematic point. It wraps everything up.

That’s what I was saying yeah, it’s like the closing scene of a film. If Only would just be more in line with the last songs on his previous albums. I do like Wednesday Overcast still
Very last minute but have 2 tickets to the Liverpool album launch show tonight and can no longer make it! If anyone is looking for one or knows anyone
Ooz is one of my favourite Krule projects. Still think Man Alive is his best work, but SH is definitely gonna continue to get spins as I grow into it. That middle of the tracklist run is insane stuff
man alive is lowkey perfect
Album of the year and it might really be a perfect album. I love this so much & I can’t wait to hear it live like I’m so excited
Some of my favorite songwriting from him ever too
This interview is really insightful too, actually got him to really open up with some questions

Had taken this video of If Only It Was Warmth when they (Archy and Galgo) performed it late last year opening for Horsey. Thought I'd share for those curious - although doesnt fully capture it. Hoping for another live album/Hey World type thing with an added saxophone version.

Great album all the way through, just enough crooning and growling.
Hamburgerphobia and If Only are my highlights, title track is awesome but does it sound kinda muddy to anyone else? Maybe it’s my ear phones, but sounds bass heavy (get it)

Deff a few real bass heavy tracks i noticed in my car
Turtoise Of Independency is one of the best songs he has created
bro really elevated on this one
my plastic straw
MY PLASTIC STRAW
MY PLASTIC STRAAAAAAAAW
that song is 10/10
personally man alive! And space heavy top the ooz for me, but all 3 are incredible. Special artist
i tried sitting with this album pretty much all day,
and outside a select few songs (When Vanishing, Seagirl, If Only It Was Warmth) most of this project just doesn’t really click with me. it seems like he took a more minimalistic approach to this album and it’s a lot more stripped back and just generally open as opposed to his other projects like the OOZ or Man Alive that felt a lot more atmospheric and enveloping in terms of sound and production just in general
it isn’t bad but not really much here for me personally, Seagirl is absolutely gorgeous though and my definitive favorite
