I get what y'all are saying believe me I have dealt with it I am a black man that been to Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs, Dua Lipa and the whole variety but not liking Future or his verse on Holy Terrain isn't racism. A lot of people are close minded about rap or don't care to listen to it but its got to advance a little more before you throw around the word racist or anti black for me personally

with that verse I heard people who actually like current mainstream hip hop trash it too.
I actually thought it worked really well though tbh. It made sense for her to include him, I don't get people's problem

Like if you actually read the verse I do see how someone could not like the vibes of the verse in the moment and context of the album. I liked it especially because its actually a introspective reflective verse from future but to call anyone that doesn't like it racist or say "they didnt want blacks on the album they accept FKA cause she lighskinned and experimental" or some s*** is just callous.
People stay complaining or calling everything racism or anti black that it dilutes the meaning of the words is my worry. Was there probably a small subgroup of gay men that were outwardly racist? probably but years later why give them that much attention or power over your present. In doing so they won cause 99% of us are enjoying the music not thinking about some twink online
I felt like I wasn't gonna fw this album when I read that interview she did with Michaela Coel. Tears in the club and the cover still makes me feel like I won't fw this more than LP1 and Magdalene
Ima keep an open mind but I feel like I'm gonna hear her trying a sound I'd rather not hear from her. She still the queen and one of the most talented artists in the world tho, no matter what she drops next Friday

I feel like the fans you're describing in this post are REALLY going to love this upcoming album
I want more moody and trippy vibes from her

Ngl, this a weird move because barely anyone drops mixtapes anymore and it's usually rappers that do
Wonder what made her decide this is a mixtape and not an album

Would've preferred this as the artwork for the mixtape though. Ties in well with the artwork of her previous projects

lmao sure never met a racist a24 and mitski loving bisexual never seen one of those before!

It won’t have the artistic vision that those projects have. It’s a mixtape so I imagine something a bit more liberated from the demands of an album. Expect something a bit more mainstream and carefree on here with just Twigs having fun with the music.
I’m excited. Hoping for a nice mix of sounds.

I think it totally fits because of how she said she wanted to include a male perspective on that concept to go with her lyrics
with the other thing you're right, but tbh I think people who don't want to accept racism use the occasional extreme claim as an excuse to ignore everything. It's really them who are in the wrong and being deliberately ignorant. Most people who misuse those words probably only do it because they're used to seeing genuine concealed racism other places
Obviously though it is true that you will find racism in any fanbase. But that's more a wider thing than anything to do with twigs specifically.
