Horrible news for Biden too though. He needed to get rid of the basement joe narrative and couldn’t do it. If you thought he was senile before, this debate wouldn’t change your mind.

I don't think normal voters really care about that narrative as much as twitter/reddit people have you believe though

    seriously tho genuinely embarrassing night

    both were a f***ing joke

I mostly come away feeling sorry for the majority of Americans. Trump supporters shoot their own foot, but a lot of us are just stuck.

Joe isn't up to the task. Trump is even further up his own ass now than he was in 2016, completely entrenched in conspiracy theories and alt right talking points. The majority of Americans have no interest. And that will ultimately be his undoing. But what will we get instead?

Please go vote. We deserve another shot at recovering our humanity. I get that you're beaten down and discouraged, but tonight was a window into how our culture could continue to erode over the next 4 years. Something has to be done, even if just for the principle of the matter.

...you do realize she would be debating against Mike Pence though in this hypothetical debate question on race though right?

You're acting like Pence is a far left candidate who doesn't have a way worse record than her on race lmao. Kamala will look moderate in comparison to him if race is brought up.

I agree, it’s hypothetical, but I’d argue that if a certain type of question was brought up during the presidential debate, than the questions for the VP debates will not vary radically from those.

Both of their track records are less than ideal, but it’s disingenuous to paint her as an ally of black Americans, whilst framing him as a white supremacist, when neither one has actively attempted to help the black community.

I can say it because Bernie was the leading candidate until Biden entered the race. Why in the hell would this dude enter the race? Imo, it was completely out of nowhere. They picked someone who has a historical name with the party (Biden, Clinton, etc).

Biden has no real plan for any of those things. He’s a puppet for the dem establishment. It’s basically Obama 1.5, without the charisma of Obama.

I truly believe both are terrible options, but Biden has been in government for almost half of his life and has had little positive impact...why put hope in him?

What do you consider positive impact, America is debatably one of the most prosperous countries ever, it’s also the most diverse , and it keeps on improving socially (as far as equality for people of differing race and sexuality goes) but of course it has flaws but what I’m stating is in regards to other country, never less you want someone who is going to radically change it? Can you understand why someone would see your point of view from a negative light ?

And You say say they have no real plan for any of those things you understand you spit in the face of all the work people have doe. ACA insures 20 million people, veteran homeless act gave housing over 90% of homeless veterans (don’t quote me on that I don’t remember the exact number) they passed a whole bunch of legislation to phase out coal and incentivized the world to start being more green with the Paris accord aggremebt and more

It ain’t easy to make change for anyone so don’t look at the ones doing it and say “your doing nothing”

You miss my point -- how is race relations going to be a big talking point for Pence when even you are also saying he is weak on it? Lol

I mean, if this was a debate between Kamala and Bernie, then obviously thay would be a topic that she'd struggle with. But she's debating against the opposite of Bernie.

And also, the average American general election voter is way more moderate than the voters in the Democratic primary, so quite honestly her more conservative record on race is actually probably going to help her in a general election debate (even tho it hurt her in the primary debates).
