I enjoyed the album. First time listening to her. A lot of depth
Listen to When The Pawn and Idler Wheel next lol
Is Nick Cave really that good? He has so many albums? Where should I start in his discog
yea he an absolute goat
start with his very first album tbh its best to just go for the whole journey with artists like nick
makes you appreciate the evolution over the years
how would yall rank her albums NOW
when the pawn
FTBC
Idler Wheel

Extraordinary Machine
all 5 are amazing though !

yea altho blonde is so much better than everything he done prior at least to me
Is it just me or was this an "easier" listen that Idler Wheel?
I felt like there was a lot more to take in with that one whereas with Bolt Cutters the subject matter is much darker but there's a lot more catchy melodies. Fiona and her band killed it
People like us get so heavy and so lost sometimes
So lost and so heavy that the bottom is the only place we can find
You get dragged down, down to the same spot enough times in a row
The bottom begins to feel like the only safe place that you know
Been on a Fiona kick since the album released. Listened to all her albums. I also finally listened to the Jon Brion version of Extraordinary Machine and compared it to the original version

EM would be an amazing album for any other artist but because it's Fiona it's her worst

exactly
Most of her songs on spotify have between 1-3 million streams. A lot of Bolt Cutters already have at least 200k after a day. That 10 really got people wondering

I wonder if this can debut in the Top 10
It's doing decent on streaming and she's selling vinyls and CDs in her store. She probably doesn't give a f*** about chart position though

"When they sent me the rollout and it said October, I was like, “Oh, no. No, no, no, no. I’m not sitting on that until October.” It seems stupid to be like, “We’re going to wait until October so that I can have the chance to do TV shows and somehow ensure that I’m going to be on the charts.” That’s not going to f***ing happen. They’re not going to play me on the radio anyway. I’m not going to go and ask for it. I don’t want to go and ask anybody to put me on their show. I don’t want to ask anybody to put me on the radio. I don’t want to ask anybody anything. If they want me, they can have me if they ask. But I don’t want to ask anybody if I can have the pleasure of being invited.
I’m glad I argued to change the release date on a text chain — I had no phone conversations — because now I can just look back forever and see all the arguments I made. Just knocking down all of the arguments that were made against me, like, “But you can’t do this, figure it out.” I’d reply, “Fuck that. This is why that doesn’t matter, this is why that doesn’t happen.” I was so proud of myself."
