They really need to start giving out more 10s because there are countless albums that deserved.
When they are stingy with their 10s, whatever gets a 10 becomes a target and people will naturally look for flaws. It doesnt do anyone a favor. Sufjan, Lana, Twigs, Frank etc... all should’ve received a 10.

Why should they? It’s pitchforks opinion. I don’t think they’re entitled to do anything. If someone is genuinely upset that an album gets a 10 from them that they feel the need to belittle the work without giving it a honest chance, that’s on them.

The problem is all these insecure people who think they’re too cool for pitchfork yet continuously bring them up every single time. Pitchfork is just another entity to me at the end of the day but I know for sure I would never in my life give a f*** about what someone on this forum who obsessively hates on pitchfork has to say.

Listen to her other albums but specifically listen to The Idler Wheel and Extraordinary Machine. IMO The Idler Wheel is better and probably top 10 of the 2010s. Also listen to the Jon Brion demo versions of Extraordinary Machine, really different sound then what was released officially.

Every single listen this album is better. It’s a masterpiece. This year has been unbelievable with releases and i just can’t believe the quality. It’s amazing and i’m grateful as hell for an album like this
