Hmm, I guess I'm content with the acclaim. I always felt like Fiona was up there with the greatest musicians OAT but before The Idler Wheel that opinion was more of an outlier.

you a critic? I think it's a 10 for me but hope people don't think this album is the symbol for women empowerment just feel like it's truly a personal album

Nah, though I have genuinely considered getting into it. Music reviews are a s***show for the most part. Needs a lot more diversity.

lol like how Fiona says check out that Rack of his. reminds me of how men would describe a woman. like flipping the mysgonistic scenario on it's head.

Such lazy a***ysis to cite the theme of feminine empowerment and some notion of liberal guilt as the reason why this is receiving critical acclaim. It's actually borderline tinfoil hat territory and quite disrespectful.

This is really strong work. Joyous but not saccharine; cynical without being in danger of being too bitter; keenly observational yet intimate. It has to be all of these while funnelling into the zeitgeist of feminine empowerment in order to stand up to meaningful scrutiny. I wouldn't give it a perfect score personally, and I'm not sure I ever will. It's still strong work. Pitchfork has got a hold of your minds, and it is sad to see.

"Such lazy a***ysis to cite the theme of feminine empowerment and some notion of liberal guilt as the reason why this is receiving critical acclaim."

P4k did this to themselves tho.

Point being it's not nearly enough on its own. The music has to stand up on its own merit. If you have exceptionally strong music which also serves a cultural touchstone and reflects the state of the world when it comes out... why the f*** would it not be critically acclaimed?

Yeah but you can't blame people for not taking P4k seriously. They're a business and have motives beyond just appreciating good music.

I just skimmed through their review and it was exactly what I was expecting from them. Lol

Even with all the rave reviews, I feel like the focus on this will die down pretty quick. Fiona's social media presence is through her best friend and only her fans know that and she only takes interviews from people she likes nowadays.

There's already some edgelords that will try to knock this down a peg (peep rym) but once life gets back to normal, I don't think anyone that truly knows what she's about is going to try to erase what a flawless piece of work this album is.

Almost as though you can have your own view and happily allow for others to have their own view, especially when they substantiate it. Who knew?

tbh Fiona is the type person that probably doesn't even like attention at all or too much praise
