Cosmonauts hook gonna be stuck in my head for the next decade
I'm just listening to it while reading this post
For me personally, Fiona's best album will always be her ruthlessly shutting down the dude from panic at the disco when he asked to sample every single night
My first time listening to her was 2018 at 28 years old. And I’m a hip hop head. The s*** just too good to deny.
Some girl showed me Criminal video when I was 17/18 and I never looked back. S*** changed my life.
I was already a fan of Cat Power, Joanna Newsom, etc. It wasn't difficult to get into her. But she was the first female artist that I felt a strong connection to. Felt like she was the female version of me.
Then a couple years later she came back with The Idler Wheel and that album made everyone see her as the genius songwriter that she is.
Btw we're the same age.

First sentence is legit my story. First year of uni, saw Criminal video come up on a throwback thursday show and was just mesmerized by her voice.
Never looked back.

I forgot all about the
You think it's nuts to wish writers wouldn't put gigantic assertions like "Music has never sounded like this before" in the lead of review that doesn't contain anything that comes close justifying it, on a website that has "the most trusted voice in music" on their masthead?
I had the context f***ed up my bad
Thot u were referring to forum posts

I was caught off guard by how smooth it was. Truly a perfect and phenomenal composition. Tidal as a whole was really jazzy and soulful, the contemporaries that she was getting compared to never made anything like it. It's crazy that it took the music community more than a decade to fully embrace her.

He was such an a****** about it too. Literally calls her a b****. With his macklemore hair. When he actually plays the sampled version that’s straight up Lebron bad beat gif meme worthy it sounds horrible

Haha you good
yeah the P4k review is terrible. Reads like old hypefork. not new hypefork.
However, I'm excited about the album regardless. Idler Wheel was great.

I don't think critics liked the fact that she was a young, outspoken woman. It still happens today tbh (mostly on twitter, reddit, forums; it seems to have gotten better in music journalism). There's an annoyance people seem to have when a girl that age speaks up, and that gets projected onto her work which then gets dismissed.
Tidal is an album packed with substance from the lyrics to the atmosphere and the only criticisms they had were that the songs were too long and that she talks too much in public.
I can't think of many debuts, let alone at that age, that were ever that good.

Really? I thought it was a great review.
Idk if anyone ever actually read the MBDTF 10 review but it’s terrible. Ryan Dombal is a joke of a writer
