Waits is literally one of my all time favorites and influences. Now my hype is f***ing dangerous

she’s expanded on the inflection work and , dead ass, “flows” , so much on this from idler so far - half way done

not to mention this seem like her most cohesive “concept” for an album so far

Wish he would come back for another album, been a while too ...

Me too man. I still listen to Bad as Me constantly. Bad As Me, Chicago, Hell Broke Luce, so many amazing Waits songs on there. I think he still has one more classic before he hangs it up. But if he didn’t I couldn’t even be mad. His discog is unbelievable

The title track is intense. The whole meaning of it and everything Fiona explained about what happened to her with her dog barking. Seriously haunting

For Her got that Hot Knife energy times 10

Yeah.. I think he recorded something recently but album wise, probably yeah

So great that even Scarlett Johansson went out her way to record an album that is just Tom Waits covers, and even had David Bowie on it, god bless

Not to take away from the thread, but it’s not often we get to share on ktt about him, one of my favorite, haunting poem, haunting melody, haunting voice, haunting song..

@chelsea I don’t know if you’ve ever listen to Tom Waits but he’s probably the biggest inspiration on Fiona Apple and that song is just beautiful

I’ve never heard this so I just listened and wow. That song is fantastic. Thank you for showing me that, what a gem. The piano playing is so beautiful and emotional on top of his voice

You’re welcome brother, I can’t share enough of this and other songs he left out and never used on an proper album as it’s a crime how good it is, actually one of his very best, at least among my favorite songs of all time period

Just had my first listen and everything you say is so true. It's incredible how well she rediscovers herself every time. What a queen 😍 and the dog barks fit the production haha, the cover makes more sense now.

The album is a lot to take in but there's also a huge chunk of great things happening on the surface.

Here’s to make the wait easier, just another beautiful Fiona Apple song because why not
