After the first battle encounter as Cloud, the game will let you skip the Mt. Nibel section. You still gotta sit through the burning Nibelheim scene afterwards though.

Reset era seems to think setting the ps5 to 1440p then selecting performance mode in game helps with the image quality. Some bug of it not being able to properly upscale all the way to 4k, but it can go 1400p
