people give nomura so much s*** for no reason

I hated all of that. What I meant was the art direction, the character design, the music, the atmosphere, the dialogue and voice acting. Tifa's personality. Cloud and Aerith's chemistry aaaaah. I loved the way I was able to visit all the layers of Midgar from the sewers to the top of Shinra HQ. By the end of the game, I was left with a feeling that I had seen everything there was to see about this place and ready for what happens next.

As a Versus XIII truther I'm trying not to think about it after ReMind. I honestly wish this feeling on nobody. I want KH4 to just be Nomura making the Versus XIII he originally wanted to make, but I know that is wishful thinking.

Agreed. I know Nomura wants to do a sole Verum Rex game, so that might be more of a Versus XIII feel than KH4. Regardless, we're still probably a decent amount of time away from seeing that lol.

They butchered the korok out of this. This looked to be the best dark final fantasy, but that tone shift is insane in the actual product. Really thought the MC was going to turn rogue and do an Anakin Skywalker impression.

Because of how much I was upset with them for that, I thought FF7 remake was going to be done so bad when it was at first with cyberconnect, and tarnish FF7 but they somehow nailed it, although with some gambling on narrative additions (I liked them). I trust them now because it seems they have a lot of dedication and passion towards this project, which always produces the best quality in things.

Looks like Square Enix has actually been handling Final Fantasy pretty well if you look at XIV, 7R and potentially even XVI now and I honestly think they will continue with that trajectory with Rebirth (hopefully they just tone down the insane sales expectations they have for every game though)

I sure hope so. 13 and 15 (pre-dlc) harmed the reputation more than it did it good, when a flagship series like this doesn’t deserve that. I’m ready for a 9/10-10/10 modern FF. Remake is my personal favorite even if it didn’t score that though.
