you liking the demo?

Camera stick drift kicking my ass

Live impressions. Just writing as I'm playing and posting when I finish the demo

Good

• set pieces are great, cut scenes really well done. love the scale and power of the eikons in the cinematics

• active time lore is cool. I never deep dive into lore/info sections in games but this seems like a nice way to get some bite sized info relevant to whats happening at the moment at the press of a button. may use it here and there

• music is great so far

• combat is a lot better in the eikonic challenge when you have more abilities and can get some combos working and switch between different powers

Iffy

• wasn't too high on the eikon vs eikon gameplay. looks cool but not very involved or engaging at all

• same goes with the QTE during boss fights, very basic 1 button presses with easy tells. guess it's impossible to f*** them up but they don't serve any good purpose and sometimes they just happen mid combo and take you out of the fight so you can watch a cutscene and wait to press a button

still buying it day 1 so I'll see how I like it after putting real time into it. I think the prologue + eikonic challenge was about 3 hours of game time but def had a lot of cut scenes

posted overall impressions on this page. it was cool but the sections we get to play are very linear and to the point so can't really get a feel for the overall game

Love seeing all the insanely positive impressions online. Shame that apparently the performance mode is iffy outside of combat.

Seeing so many people call the game godlike already and being surprised by how good the story is.

Can’t wait for the full release. Only real complaint I have is the performance; not sure why they said they won’t do one on day 1; during the Eikon fights it can get pretty bad

So to clarify something story wise from the demo Clive's mother is a b\*\*\*\* towards him because he doesn't have phoenix transformation like joshua? Considering she's a blonde thought she wasn't his real mother.

I compare the Eikon battle to directing an epic action movie. Mostly cinematic but idk how you couldn’t be engaged that s*** was epic.

that's how it's painted on the surface but probably more to it.

joshua and clive are the sons of the archduke. as for the mom joshua is likely her blood and maybe clive has a different mom that isn't in the picture.

it would be weird of her to just dislike clive because phoenix didn't pick him, because like the archduke says, the phoenix didn't pick him either. guessing the mom knows a lot more behind the scenes

it's more like I'm watching it unfold basically on autopilot

just holding down triangle and occasionally tapping r1. like if it was just a streamlined cutscene it would've had the same effect for me
