it was some main quest during ultima first fight I had done everything to unlock the best sword but some side quest I could only do after that fight and it was like 3 or 4am and I wanted to sleep before work lol

the only truly necessary side quest come after the storm the capital so you are good unless you are completionist run or going to do new game plus
