I think my biggest takeaway from this demo is not the gameplay. It's how they were trying to convey who Clive is by the way he interacts with people around him and how people see him.
He is this deeply humble, selfless, introverted person who always tries to elevate the people around him above himself, quiet, never talks back, cares about everyone no matter if they are human or animal, rulers or slaves. Clive is so careful to open up to anybody because he doesn't want to be seen as a burden and he has internalized that belief from the way his mother treated him for all his life, never takes credit for all the good he is doing. He's trying so hard to help wherever he can, just to realize he has no control at all, all he can do is make it through another day.
I think this is what I will enjoy the most about this game, just putting the pieces together and learning where his heart is at after everything that happened in the prologue.

This isn’t day 1 but Sta…nvm
Hope you get it next week!
This is high production value but this is entirely cinematic story telling and devil may cry neither of which is my taste
All of which I mention in the post you quote
. When I see this story has moved people to tears or intrigued them much more than me . I say I’m glad it exist perhaps it isn’t for me
Active lore guide cool as f*** to allow the player again to do a little more during the cut scenes and immerse .

Never played a FF game before but this is making me want to start.
What would be a good game to start with?

You can (basically) start with any game in the series, so yes, you can start with this.

This game
I’ve never gotten into a 3D final fantasy . I loved tactics advanced though . X-XV I’ve watched people play some but never been my thing to see 3D cutscenes and turn based story or now action .
There isn’t a single game like this that has ever interested me personally from kingdom hearts , god of war , devil may cry , vii remake . So why would I act like this one going to be different . I’m just not a hack and slash person
S*** same way a million people can say play elden ring and it doesn’t click for you or Diablo ( played some last night too ) . The idea that ffxvi or ffvii remake is universally enjoyable to every type of gamer or should be is short sighted to reality
I love xcom 2 though lol

1 of my favorite parts of this thread is watching this arc unfold. i wouldn’t be surprised if you cop soon tbh but also it’s not like the world will explode if u don’t

Like the previews were not well written to what I personally do enjoy about it . Can the game be consistently try to be that epic for 40, side quest and things to do outside main story and how it all goes . As I keep saying it looks cool but I just purchased two games and in next 3 months have to work a lot cause our game ships in September lol

Difference is you love god of war recent series which this takes some cool parts from

dude i never pay attention to previews tbh, i think 99 percent of them awful, but i see your point. im just playing tho not trying to argue
Active time lore is dope although I would be exploring all over expecting to find notes or something and only seeing potions . I’m just someone where I get more connected to a story when I find the pieces or hear in town extra details . Started my replay of the demo though . First go see Japanese this go is English . Combat flow again I like much better than spider man . Feels tweaked just about right

Oh you’re all good lol . I hope this game lands for everyone hyped and gets newcomers. It’s dope they did a demo with progress transfer .
I know the answer is out there but is there more rpg to it like change gear , weapons , learn traits . Like leveling or like a deeper skill tree that will change my playthrough
i just hope ATL entries have a section in the journal cause i am not doing that during cutscenes i'm lettin them beauties play uninterrupted
y’all have probably already seen this but
!https://youtu.be/Hu4H5ykBP0IDid you ever catch this discussion about XVI and VII Remake between Ryan (Night Sky Prince) and Tim Rogers? Really insightful conversation. I hope they do another one soon.

Yes to all of these. Seems similar to KH in that sense.
