Gladiator or anything else?
Paladin seems up your alley. You should try Dark Knight too once you reach heavensward.
hardest story boss in this game for me. I was so frustrated
Him just being OG WoL from FFI was f\*\*\*ing heat tho

agreed. wiped a few times before i got my first attempt. crazy fun fight though.
iirc, i believe @redtruth farmed the extreme for the weapons from it shortly after it dropped

I want to do the extreme and savage boss fights at some point, but I only know one person irl who plays, and they're level 20. And I can't really use duty finder for those fights
Seeing the gear though

which data center are you on? i think we're at the same point if you just finished up 5.3. once this month is over, i think i'll start actually playing this game, so i'd be down to play if we're on the same one.
got a few friends who are either catching up rn or are caught up, so i might have people to play with, though they're all on different data centers
and yeah man, the gear is so clean

I had no idea there was a patch this Tuesday
I should be done with MSQ by then. I've been waiting MONTHS to watch that Endwalker trailer. Going in spoiler free

think the patch is just supposed to be some fixes + data center travel was scheduled for 5.58, so i would hope it's dropping then
watching those trailers after waiting so long is gonna be nice as hell
Oh fr? Not really fond of healers i like being in the frontlines and using knight type of classes. Any fun classes you recommend?
Healers don't really have a dps rotation. Even at lv 80 they only have like 2 skills to deal damage. A DoT skill and one damage skill you pretty much spam 24/7.
If you want more of a dps rotation and you also like leading the group you can pick a tank. All tanks have a 1->2->3 dps rotation with another rotation on top of that depending on the tank.
Not going to go too much into every tanks but:
Paladins are the most complex tank due to their rotation and their mitigation is mostly focused on protecting other party members which means they don't have many tools to actually protect themselves. Out of all the tanks Paladin has the highest skill floor.
Gunbreakers is basically the DPS tank, it deals the most damage out of the tanks, and their mitigation is actually okay. Every 30 second they get a window to perform a new 123 rotation on top of their standard 123 rotation which deals a lot of damage. This 30 second window means that you need to plan your mitigation as trying to press a mitigation skill on top your dps window can get messy.
Dark Knight are the strongest tanks defensively (also my main class lol) due to an ability to get at lv 70. I would say that its also one of the easiest tanks to play due to their rotation being one of the simpler ones out of the tanks.
Warrior I can't really speak on that much but from everyone I have played with its pretty similar to Dark Knight.
Other than that, if you don't want to worry about tanking and want to play a job with a more complicated DPS rotation then you should play a DPS class. Not going to speak on them since DPS jobs are too different from one another and I only played a few of them

Yeah its the hardest normal trial in the game so far, extreme version of the fight is really fun due to mechanics being random in the 2nd phase

You want to use party finder for those fights. Theres often new players that also want to start getting into those more difficult fights so just look for a party finder that says something like "starting this from beginning, new players welcome" or something like that.
For you and @wes if anything the best fight to start with is Titania Extreme since its the easiest extreme fight and its still current content kind of. You can watch a guide for the fight a couple of times then just head in. Don't worry about making mistakes cause other players are probably going to make them too. Most people are cool as well, you only start to see toxic players near the top floors of Savage fights.

Also visit this site and look up a guide for your class to learn how to do an opener. saltedxiv.com
In Eulmore there is a place called stony sky sea which you can use to practice your opener and rotation.
Honestly once I learnt my opener the fights become a lot easier since I didn't have to think about my rotation during the fights as much. Also if you do the same opener for the same fight you will start to know when mechanics are coming up due to where you are in your rotation.
It can be overwhelming at first but once you're actually in its not that bad

Bet, i’ll give Paladin and Dark Knight a try

Thanks for the link. I've never used that site before. I'll totally check it out
Monk's rotation is really easy tbh, the biggest issue for me has been clipping (I think I'm using that term correctly?)
And yeah Stone, Sky, Sea has been a good resource. Every time I use Duty Finder or unlock a new trial I go there pretty much. I think my DPS is really good now. The most recent one I have is Eden's Gate and I can finish with around 15s left. It's done wonders for my opening I think.
Since level 80 mine has been: Formless Fist > Dragon Kick > Brotherhood > Twin Snakes > Forbidden Chakra > Demolish > Tornado Kick > Bootshine > Riddle of Fire > True Strike > Snap Punch.
Then weave chakras and oGCDs as they come. Really easy on controller tbh
what jobs do y'all love to play
thinking of maybe leveling something else

You should pick up at least on crafting and gathering job each imo
Weaver + Botanist is a good combo.

Yeah, I wanted to check out the crafting jobs, but they seemed kinda overwhelming. I'll look at few video guides and see how to progress.
Duty Roulette put me in Amaurot for the first time since completing the main scenario for Shadowbringers.
Having Emet-Selch narrate the end of the world is so damn cool; I hope his narration in the Endwalker trailer means he’ll be doing it in-game as well.
bro, I thought I'd be in Heavensward by now
I did not think post-ARR MSQ was this long
