Honestly, it could go either way. Odds are he’s cooked, but they still haven’t explicitly proven that Durk actually ordered the murder-for-hire plot.

At this point, the jury has probably either already made up their minds based on the evidence, or the closing arguments will be what ultimately swings it. It really comes down to who they believe. Do they believe the admitted murderers who have given inconsistent stories and have every incentive to say whatever helps them get out of jail? Or do they believe the defense’s argument that Durk is being treated like the person in charge simply because he’s the biggest and most famous name involved?

Being the most famous guy in the room doesn’t automatically make you the boss or the mastermind.

The defense did an okay job creating doubt, but in closing they really need to make the case explicitly that Vonnie was the mastermind and the person actually directing the plot.

In reality, Durk probably knew something about what was going on. The real question is whether the prosecution has actually proven that he ordered it. Everyone involved is tied up in gangs and violence, so the credibility of the witnesses is a huge part of the case.

To add, I actually find the argument that Vonnie was behind it pretty compelling. He comes across like a master manipulator, so it’s possible he could have convinced people to do the shooting by making them believe the order came from Durk.

His testimony about knowing the BMW had a tracker is also strange. If he knew it was being tracked, why would he bring it along on a hit in the first place? It almost sounds like he was building himself a layer of protection in case they got caught, so he could later distance himself from what happened.

Planting these seeds is what will win him the case.

idk how it all works really, but if the burden is beyond a reasonable doubt, and it comes down to beliving randoms who have a motive to lie and frame durk (even if thats the less likely situation), then that IS reasonable doubt. I dont think you should put someone away for life, off of essentially the vibes of a witness

booking a flight out of a country because you’re accused of a crime doesnt prove your guilty. but its a bad look.

in my judgement, theres a shadow of a doubt. if youre putting somebody away for LIFE you need irrefutable, damning evidence.
