fashion has always been a status symbol and majority of brands market to capitalise on this anyway, thats where most of their customers come from.

Fashion prices have also inflated for no reason over the years, increasing margins or same margins, with worse production quality and cost cutting across 'luxury brands'. A good example of this is Common projects, not even a ridiculous price point imo compared to higher end designers (fuck most instagram designers charge as much for one of their pieces which are essentially replicas). The prices have steadily increased over the years with many anecdotally claiming leather isn't as buttery or soft.
