I don't love fantano, but his audience existed before him, and gravitated to Pitchfork and Rolling Stone - and were just as toxic.

Even as far back as the 70s, Rolling Stone attacked one of the best Beatles solo records McCartney, and next thing you know, all the readers where throwing stones at Paul McCartney for no real reason.

I'd argue that Fantano is more transparent about his views (no matter how s***ty they may be) than any review publication.
