having gripes with him because you get the idea of what he does is one thing but memorizing dozens of his scores is another

i just dont get why someone with gripes will watch so many videos. maybe hatewatching is a thing with him

no one watches his videos to length lmao

You defending him too hard, yeah he should put his integrity over ad revenue and if he’s gonna review something from an artist he’s never liked I don’t think he should go out his way to be disrespectful

He stopped reviewing MIKE because it wasn’t for him and people rightfully s*** on him for the uninformed claim that MIKE was an Earl biter when it’s really the other way around, I respect that he just said “ok it’s not for me” and stopped reviewing

Should’ve done that with Gunna as well imo, I didn’t use to look at him as starving for attention and clicks but he has definitely leaned more into that

can we dead this narrative already, please.

Fantno called MIKE Earl's protege, which people got pissy about...

thing is, he is literally Earl's protege

His fans that just straight up take over his opinion are the cancer tbh. He himself is just a loser making bank out of dumbass music opinions, but I respect it.

Y’all only hate him because he hates your favorite albums and artists let’s be real. Everything else is just cope

You’re telling me there’s not 1 redeemable moment in all 4 of these albums? If it was a white metal band he would find something to praise Im sure

Agreed, honestly him giving “not good” to artists like Nav and Gunna really bothers me, he really found absolutely no merit in the Baby Gunna project but ended up flipping on Baby when he became the hottest rapper

He also gave Gunna the not good after only sitting with it for one day and probably mostly caught up with listening to The Weeknd, it just seems so disrespectful, even in general the whole “not good” thing is kind of harsh but when he does it to these artists repeatedly it’s a terrible look, I’m surprised with him being so progressive that he can’t see that

I still think Donda is better than CLB but I just don’t think they’re an 8 and a 3 or whatever, Fantano himself walked back his praise of Donda really quick so I feel like he was pandering

As far as me and Drake I was always a big fan that’s why I was passionate about certain things I felt like he wasn’t doing as good as he could. I still am frustrated about the way he refuses to put together a masterpiece album like he could but his consistency over the years and the way his bars have improved since Scorpion have made me see things a little differently and respect his run. When his run hit 10 years on top it kind of was a wake up call for me

when did he walk back on donda

niggas that say people care too much about fantano’s opinions be trying harder than the people that allegedly do, to show how much they apparently don’t care, who would’ve thought?

Man, I hate this identity politics, attack your motivations, not your arguments, s***.

It’s the problem with our discourse today, people are so f***ing desperate to slot you into a straw man, so it’s easier to dismiss you.

Nope it’s not just that wording, there was other parts of the review where he seemed to let that faulty perception color his opinion

Was the sequencing of Donda Deluxe not ass?

When reacting to Eazy, he still said Donda is one of the best albums Kanye's put out in a while.

Disliking a deluxe tracklisting and thinking it ruins the OG isn't "walking back" on the material itself

Title is clickbait but he had more of a problem with the album sequencing on the deluxe than the actual music

I don't think it matters that much at all but its whatever

He didn’t “flip on Baby”, it’s called nuance.

He doesn’t like Baby’s albums but he likes the string of features he’s had lately. But no, everyone’s gotta be all or nothing, all the time.

like this was def a bit sus and he would def never say it now. I'm not saying dude can't change his views or that this change isn't good but he was definitely skewing another way for a while. I also think while he didn't like the heat of that fader article, it did give him a bit of a wake up call wrt how a lot of his fans were ie 4chan edgelords

Damn he was actually based back then
