Yeah I mean Nipsey was known to big hip hop fans but not to the mainstream. Makes sense they’d have this reaction. Though I do kinda hate when ppl smugly act like something’s irrelevant just because THEY don’t know about it
Think it’s just satire on how some artists don’t get the respect they deserve until they’re gone.
Someone had to say it
I wasn’t big into bro music before or after he died but always had respect for him and as an old school drake stan I loved that Killer song they had together yearsss ago.
Either way, y’all need to stop comparing and contrasting how important or not he was. Let dude rip, this is just sick seeing y’all do this.
Fr lol like nobody cares if y’all niggas were fans or not stfu and pay respects or go join them white boys at family guy studio
The joke was mid but they're not entirely wrong. I followed nipsey a lil since his XXL freshman s*** and outside LA he wasn't buzzing nearly as much as you'd think. He definitely didn't break into the mainstream nearly as much until he died. I remember not many people actually buying his albums and then millions of people came out the woodwork when he passed to act like they were always huge fans. LA was genuine with their support but I do believe a lot of people just jumped on when they saw it on social media.
A lot of middle America gone resonate with this joke
It's like if a good but not well known country singer died and social media made it seem like he was on the level of great country singers.
who could have guessed these people dont know who nipsey hussle is

They know who Nip is. You'd be surprised how many ppl know about King Solomon and Haile Selassie
someone show this to the game
photoshopping himself into the episode in 5... 4...
I mean at least Chris Griffin is supposed to be an idiot AND he's all dressed up for whatever reason, bozos in this thread are being their authentic selves.
People really acted like Kendrick died when Nipsey died.
I never even heard of Nipsey before he died, and I’m on KTT everyday.
You my mans but this is exactly why niggas don’t be liking white rap fans fr Lmaoo

its just my experience
I don't really care I'm sure twitter will act all mad about this like everyday isn't people saying disrespectful s*** for laughs and likes
The joke itself didn't make me laugh, but I've laughed at far worse jokes about people so I can't be hypocritical just cuz its nipsey lol
This nigga Nip a Grammy nominated artist and went up against other nominees like Cardi and Pusha and them.
He was on XXL covers, had the Hov co-sign from the 100 dollar mixtape,
I heard of him through his collabs with artists like French Montana back in 2010 when French was on his run in NY,
I’m not saying he was the biggest rapper in the world but y’all niggas acting like he was super underground like XV or somebody is peak “I discovered rap in 2015” s***
its just my experience
Your experience does not speak to the general audience.
“I never heard of him and I’m on KTT everyday”
A good chunk of these KTT niggas are not rap fans like that, using this site as a barometer for something like that is useless lol
I’m not even mad at the joke cuz it’s mid I’m just laughing at everybody showing their ass

I don’t follow the Grammys like that, don’t think I’ve ever looked at an XXL magazine cover, and I don’t care for French Montana tbh.
I was more into Odd Future/ASAP/Kanye in the early 2010s.
Probably why I never heard of him

That’s cool the comment was gross though.
“People act like Kendrick died when Nipsey died” is a weird statement to say cuz it comes off as like one’s death is more important than the other.
They were both prominent figures in the west coast rap scene and even did songs together and had plenty of mutual connections.
One just has a bigger white / pop presence, which shouldn’t really matter in the realm of hip hop but for some reason we place importance on that.
I love both their music too so this isn’t a slight at K Dot
Edit: here’s a cool article detailing their connections in the rap game and all that

I didn’t mean that as “one death is more important than another”
I simply meant it as people were treating Nipsey like he was one of the biggest artists out when he wasn’t popular.
I think a lot of it had to do with people just hopping on the bandwagon thinking “anothe rapper died! Gotta make him my personality!” Sort of that happened with XXX
