People really acted like Kendrick died when Nipsey died.
I never even heard of Nipsey before he died, and I’m on KTT everyday.
I mean that’s just on you. Nip did a lot of great things for the community. Plus didn’t he win or was nominated for a Grammy before he died too? Y’all just be sleep on people that’s buzzing and be so proud to be out of touch.

If you never heard of Nip as a hip hop fan, especially in 2017/2018 you’re out of touch “lil bro”. He Had some buzzing joints. Nip wasn’t a “random” artist.

you never even heard of him? Its one thing to not hear his music but of him in general?
How are people not picking up on the fact isn’t actually disrespectful to nipsey it’s s***ting on white people who pretend to care about the culture to look cool

I’m not really on social media, I was long out of school by the point he was coming up, and never saw him mentioned on KTT…
So idk where else I would see anything about him

I think its s***ting on everyone who after someone dies, give them their flowers.

How? You can clearly tell from the context of the scene Chris and Meg are hipsters pretending to be cool and talking about music festivals. Them saying this is obviously derivative of that. It’s not like they have an announcer pointing at the audience and declaring this. It’s a character in a satirical context

He made headlines for selling a mixtape for like a million dollars to Jay Z a few years before he passed

Imma be real you, you ain't miss much after Mailbox Money. I fell off dude and only looked at him for a decent feature here and there.
Victory Lap was a good return to form, and was backed by a solid budget with Diddy as executive producer, and I believe it was released in partnership with Atlantic. Very well put together album, but I won't lie, if he did not die I very likely would've forgotten about it that year. Kinda crazy how he been around since like...2008 or some s***, probably earlier, and that was his debut studio album.

He was nominated for RAOTY in 2019 but lost to Cardi B, and then won in 2020 for a DJ Khaled collab
To be such a nobody, it’s weird that they’d even address him and make a joke about him
