You aint got the newly restored footage tho that makes it as close to the original version as possible
I dont even listen to c***town, but Antonio Theythemanatto is one of the funniest things ive heard all year
They have so many good bits tho
When he transitions to Bank Sinatra I cried laughing at the coupon bit.

sure. he is often referring to Adorno's understanding of culture industry and s***appeal is def a part of it. Also, sexual expression in music is a part of a psychoanalytical perception of art and our surroundings in general.
On a related note: I've recently added "sex scenes never serve the plot so they have no reason to exist" to my list of cRiTiCisMs that are utter nonsense

its already long as f*** but
have you guys seen those restoration videos of old footage from the 1800/1900s? it's pretty awesome

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PC0nCmCmN4&feature=shareOh just based off that "Woke Italian Mobsters" bit, im sure their whole show is hilarious. Unfortunately still cant get into podcasts at all though :/
But i did follow Adam and Nick on Twitter a while back solely because of that classic exchange between Adam and Chelsea Clinton

yeah, was a status symbol. if you didn't wear a hat you were basically seen as an a****** and ungentlemanly

Like on one hand, it's a cool little experiment to look at say "it's neat that they can do this"
On the other hand, I don't see any reason for something like "Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat" — shot with the Lumiere's invention that was specifically designed to be 16fps — to be "enchanced" to goddamn 60fps lol. (Much less adding "natural sounds" in order to make it as realistic as possible.) Im perfectly fine with upscaling image quality for the most part tho.
Ever since that ultra-modernized Lumiere short went viral, it's become a new trend to do the same with other really early films. And i cant help but be pessimistic by worry that people watching them in comparison to the original will result in the "enhanced" versions being thought of as better or "the best way" to watch them — rather than just another interpretation of them.
Worst case scenario is people start favoring the new "good graphics = good game" versions, and the originals' historic value becomes overlooked cause we're gaming with Nvidia Black Sabre Deathvenom X15000 cards in current year. I don't think for a second that this will actually happen...but we do have scenarios like the s*** that happened with Warhol's Empire film
Or the guy that went on a massiv Reddit and Twitter campaign a while back promoting his "labor of love": a fully colorized, and dubbed (no intertitles) fan-edit of Metropolis
Completely erasing the original film's significant role in German Expressionism
Which of course, spawned copycats:

Hats, veils, and gloves used to be the f***ing wave i swear
@rise_zero But also, you should check out the show "America in Color" (i think its on the Smithsonian tv channel?). It's pretty dope

!https://youtu.be/G0cVzulyF2Ei think it's cool tech and a way to get a feel for the past, but i agree i wouldn't really dig it for films. it's like when you watch remastered star wars or something and a f***ing 3D monster pops up surrounded by a bunch of puppets. just leave art as it is.
