when we were doing 2010s list i felt shame cause half the albums i listed were pretty inconsistent.... but im overwhelmed with certified classics from the '00's
much much stronger decade now that im looking closely (at least for rock)
Crazy thing is you’ll write 60, then think of 60 more

cant wait to put No Line On The Horizon way up there
after that 19 minute pretentious ass song that was just drone sounds on Shaking the Habitual, I turned that bullshit off
pleb
but yeah, I feel you even though I like it a lot (mid-tier track on the album for me and it makes sense in the album context.).
nah 2010s > 2000s for me
hyped albums got way worse though
probably because those are the respective decades that we both came of age as music nerds. the wave of classics starting 2003-4 is when i converted from young punk rap kid to full rock fan and goddamn am i getting flashbacks while making my list
oracular spectacular, funeral, elephant, show your bones
remember how amazing it felt going to a club and hearing Electric Feel when it was fresh
wish i got internet earlier tbh. i spent almost all of 2000s not being able to develop any of my tastes and habits
10s prob my fav decade ever but thats probably just cuz of recency and cuz in my everyday life, I am most likely to play 10s music since I ain't a dusthead
00s is great though. Its between the 70s or that for my 2nd fav decade of music.

same, i was dependant on north american boomer magazines which couldve been worse but it resulted in me having massive blind spots for british stuff and anything past the 70s for a long time

I think part of it is also just for me to look for music I can see myself actually wanting to play again and I feel like when I hear that track, it just sounds like some stock "dark/edgy" music moment in a movie.
To be fair I enjoyed STH a decent amount outside of certain tracks, maybe I should revisit it again.

she was born during WWI and is still living
