Tbh I think sometimes stuff like that is interesting. A short cut because you think it’s boring or too slow is ridiculous tho imo. I mostly prefer when these sorts of things are done to recapture the directors original intentions or when they’re just radically experimental.

Never heard of the flick but it looks cool. Trailer reminds me of the Aussie flick Animal Kingdom.

But broski you want an awesome trippy flick peep A Field in England Historical war drama with dry humor, horror elements, and psychedelics.

I have no problem with things like fan edits or the "personalized" edits of films.

Soderbergh is a good example of a filmmaker/free-time editor that embodies both things I like and dislikes about 3rd party edits of films. Sometimes he takes a film and makes it into something brand new or totally different, just for fun or to release pent up creativity. But there's been times where he's made edits that are more in-line with the whole "i can do a better job of executing this other filmmaker's vision with a re-edit" idea. (I actually think Soderbergh has even done this with 2001 before lol.)

I'm all for re-edits by fans/other filmmakers if they're presenting something as their personal interpretation of what a film can be made into by mixing up the footage — but I don't care for edits that explicitly try to "upgrade" the original. (And especially when it's made just to pander to people that potentially wouldn't enjoy the intentions of the OG.)
