    classic

Yeah the whole record is pretty incredible. Even the two bonus cuts. They should have been on the album proper.

I gave it another shot. It definitely went up in estimation for me. I still don’t love it, but it’s obviously good. Roller Coaster, Don’t Fall Down, and Kingdom of Heaven are all very good. Like I said, I already loved Splash 1. Their cover of Dylan’s Baby Blue is pretty great, even if it’s not on this album.

Yeah second album also incredible but less visceral. What context did you listen to it in?

    Very Based

wow good memory. the problem was kratom was marketed to me as an innocuous d***, but I should have researched it. I took it for 5 years and phenibut for 1 year mainly for sleep. The only other time I went into withdrawal from Kratom was in venice and it was a nightmare.

Anyway a comedy of errors led to a cold turkey of phenibut, kratom, klonopin, ssri, nicotine and adderall (I don't really think of those last two as having bad withdrawals)

Klonopin withdrawal by itself is the worst hell imaginable. Not looking for pity but it was really bad you can imagine.

But the nice thing is I'm basically off all of it finally except for adderall and klonopin which keep me sane. No desire to do any of the other stuff

damn im trynna taper phenibut again for like the third or fourth time

    NEW LIST ANNOUNCEMENT

GREATEST DEBUT STUDIO ALBUMS OF ALL TIME

Quickly getting this new list announced before I leave for vacation . Didn't wanna wait until after.

RULES!!!! (there's a lot to read)

very sorry for the massive rule list... it's more explanation than separate rules. just clarifying to be safe.

MINIMUM OF 50 ALBUMS // MAXIMUM OF 80 ALBUMS

This is for DEBUT STUDIO ALBUMS ONLY. NOT debut EP's or debut mixtapes or debut live albums, etc. (Keeping this to STUDIO albums is for consistency).

If an artist has multiple mixtapes or EP's but no OFFICIAL Studio Album, then they are INELIGIBLE for this list.

If an artist's first released project is NOT a 'Studio Album', their FIRST STUDIO ALBUM still counts.

    EXAMPLES^

Frank Ocean - channel ORANGE COUNTS (not Nostalgia, Ultra)

Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking COUNTS (Not their debut eponymous Live Album)

Death Grips - The Money Store COUNTS (Not Exmilitary)

MC5's Back in the USA COUNTS (Not Kick Out the Jams)

you probably get the idea now...

If an artist or band changes their name or band name but are still considered the SAME band, their first album as a NEW name is NOT a new debut. Their debut is still considered whatever was released under the first name.

    EXAMPLES^

Caroline Polachek's first album Arcadia under "Ramona Lisa" is her debut. Pang does not count.

Preoccupations' first album Viet Cong under "Viet Cong" is their debut. The following record, Preoccupations, does not count.

Bill Callahan's first album Sewn to the Sky as Smog is his debut. Woke on a Whaleheart, released under his own name, is not considered a separate project, therefore does not count.

Lamb of God's first album Burn the Priest as "Burn the Priest" would be their debut, not the following record as Lamb of God.

    u get the idea.....

Bands that OFFICIALLY dissolved but maintained similar/majority band members WILL be allowed to count separately, such as:

Joy Divison AND New Order are obviously both allowed

Jefferson Airplane AND Jefferson Starship are both allowed

Silver Jews AND Purple Mountains are both allowed.

(I can't think of any more examples.)

Please send your lists in the following format (and in order, not 'randomly placed'.)

    1. Artist - Album
    2. Artist - album
    etc...

Do not send your list in a topsters picture. I need to copy/paste the list directly into my document.

    CHEAT SHEET

    I've provided a cheat sheet : docs.google.com/document/d/1NDnHGEwmdUW2a3iDDv7UNifuRxFlZ_iDqJf-Zy6YkEI/edit?usp=sharing

This list includes every debut album from every list we've done on KTT2, as well as hundreds of other notable records that were not voted but seemed important or popular, including a few records from the 2020s and 1950s, if that's your thing. Obviously, I can't list every debut album EVER, so even though the cheat sheet is a good starter, I still recommend doing a little bit of self-research for your list.

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT AN ARTIST'S DEBUT ALBUM MIGHT BE, PLEASE CHECK THE CHEAT SHEET FIRST SINCE THERE'S A CHANCE I COULD HAVE IT INCLUDED IN THERE.

the minimum and maximum were both slightly increased since the cheat sheet is an easy way to grab at least 50 albums... no excuses to not participate with the massive list provided.

I will try my best to continue adding albums to the cheat sheet as lists get sent to me, if they have records I've not listed.

.... i think i covered everything that was not easy to clarify.

also @Galaxy does Do You Want More?! by the Roots count as their debut or Organix? I think Organix was sold in a mixtape esque way hand to hand so many consider DYWM to be their real debut. I checked the cheat sheet and they weren't on there so

also what bout albums that were indie debuts vs major label debuts? Like for example a ScHoolboy Q with Habits & Contradictions vs Oxymoron just to throw a very random example out there

MINIMUM OF 50 ALBUMS // MAXIMUM OF 80 ALBUMSThis is for DEBUT STUDIO ALBUMS ONLY.
EXAMPLES^Frank Ocean - channel ORANGE COUNTS (not Nostalgia, Ultra)Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking COUNTS (Not their debut eponymous Live Album)Death Grips - The Money Store COUNTS (Not Exmilitary)MC5's Back in the USA COUNTS (Not Kick Out the Jams)you probably get the idea now...
If an artist or band changes their name or band name but are still considered the SAME band, their first album as a NEW name is NOT a new debut. Their debut is still considered whatever was released under the first name.
EXAMPLES^Caroline Polachek's first album Arcadia under "Ramona Lisa" is her debut. Pang does not count.Preoccupations' first album Viet Cong under "Viet Cong" is their debut. The following record, Preoccupations, does not count.Bill Callahan's first album Sewn to the Sky as Smog is his debut. Woke on a Whaleheart, released under his own name, is not considered a separate project, therefore does not count.Lamb of God's first album Burn the Priest as "Burn the Priest" would be their debut, not the following record as Lamb of God.u get the idea.....
Bands that OFFICIALLY dissolved but maintained similar/majority band members WILL be allowed to count separately, such as:Joy Divison AND New Order are obviously both allowedJefferson Airplane AND Jefferson Starship are both allowedSilver Jews AND Purple Mountains are both allowed.

(I can't think of any more examples.)

Please send your lists in the following format (and in order, not 'randomly placed'.)

    1. Artist - Album
    2. Artist - album
    etc...

Do not send your list in a topsters picture. I need to copy/paste the list directly into my document.
CHEAT SHEETI've provided a cheat sheet : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NDnHGEwmdUW2a3iDDv7UNifuRxFlZ_iDqJf-Zy6YkEI/edit?usp=sharingThis list includes every debut album from every list we've done on KTT2, as well as hundreds of other notable records that were not voted but seemed important or popular, including a few records from the 2020s and 1950s, if that's your thing. Obviously, I can't list every debut album EVER, so even though the cheat sheet is a good starter, I still recommend doing a little bit of self-research for your list.IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT AN ARTIST'S DEBUT ALBUM MIGHT BE, PLEASE CHECK THE CHEAT SHEET FIRST SINCE THERE'S A CHANCE I COULD HAVE IT INCLUDED IN THERE.the minimum and maximum were both slightly increased since the cheat sheet is an easy way to grab at least 50 albums... no excuses to not participate with the massive list provided.I will try my best to continue adding albums to the cheat sheet as lists get sent to me, if they have records I've not listed..... i think i covered everything that was not easy to clarify.DUE DATE (as of now): WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14TH, 2026Tags 1/4

Been in Florence this week and just had this album on repeat the whole time. Can't remember who here was talking about it ages ago but it rules

also @Galaxy does Do You Want More?! by the Roots count as their debut or Organix? I think Organix was sold in a mixtape esque way hand to hand so many consider DYWM to be their real debut. I checked the cheat sheet and they weren't on there so

also what bout albums that were indie debuts vs major label debuts? Like for example a ScHoolboy Q with Habits & Contradictions vs Oxymoron just to throw a very random example out there

Changing to a major label does not change the facts of what their debut is

    Organix is Roots debut
    Setbacks is schoolboy Q's debut
