still patiently waiting for you to get to Beefhearts last run of albums after his mid 70s hiatus

I listened to his two '74 albums a f***in ton. They're much more approachable than the second era stuff.
Respect for White Light but it ain't Genes debut
Don't forgot 13th Floor Elevators
I figured it was technically his solo debut, since the one before that was credited as being with the Gosdin Brothers. That album was then re-released with just his name under the title Echoes, but it’s weird to consider a re-release a debut. Also I was never all that high on the 13th Floor Elevators debut. Interesting and game changing, but it’s not really my vibe all the way through.

wikipedia says White Light is his 2nd and the Gosdin as the 1st still directly under his name.
idk if it's considered lame to use wikipedfia as a source but they have the largest database of informationand usually differentitate immediately right away as "x" is the "first/second/third" album by "x" in the description
im sure streaming sites might say differently but I don't subscribe to the idea that wikipedia is a bad source. It's actually heavily resourceful and well monitored.

Fair. I’ll remove it.

I'm not sure if the Gosdin Brothers even ever existed
If so all they did was sing a little harmony but they've never once made my ears perk up and wonder "who's voice is that?".
bro is really putting in work for this album
It's such a pivotal, singular masterpiece
Everybody needs to know
Fair. I’ll remove it.
i know I'm going to have to really scour through every list I receive to ensure the correct albums are picked. that's why I'm working on the cheat sheet, both to make it much easier to make a list wiht a massive list as a starting point as well as an information guide potentially if people have questions on an album's eligibility or what album is an artist's debut
Revisit that mono Elevators debut for me
I’ve always liked the opening track and Splash 1. I’ll give it a shot again soon. Speaking of 60’s Psych, I discovered this band recently. This caught my eye.

How do people watch movie after movie like that
If I watch 6 to 10 per year that's a lot
Its my hobby

i go through a phase from like December-March every year and usually watch 50-60 in that timeframe. I also like to have a gaming phase at least once a year that takes away from films since I can't concentrate on balancing both, on top of always listening to music.
And it's probably exclusive to me, but list season during the last month of collecting + 3 weeks of counting, making the pictures (including sporidacally workin gon the layout from time to time) also takes time away from multitasking stuff.
isk how some people watch 100s of films a year. I'd be exhausted. and balancing other media equally at the same time seems equally exhausting

Reverberation is absolutely brutal as well in a good way.
I'll check that song shortly

I don’t remember the rest. I just felt at the time that it leaned too much into garage rock for my taste. I’ll try again with an open mind.

I'm already at 165 films for this year while running a business, 3 other side jobs, listening to an absolute s***load of albums, playing a few games, reading a few books and a s***posting on ktt lol

Well the first song which you like is definitely garage rock.
Most the rest of the songs were recorded months later and are fully psych. The songwriter of the band played a fking wine jug which he managed to make sound like some otherworldly, alien beacon lol.
Currently read Legacy Of Ashes

i suppose i forgot to mention sports szn for me, hockey and nba playoffs running April-June almost guarantees that I don't watch films during that time. I know you don't care for watching sports so it's not a distraction for you... but even like dr.j manages to watch a lotta games in different sports throughout the year while seeming to watch 2-3 films every day. That is just a lotta focus and energy into that. I think I'm just bad at planning around multiple hobbies and balancing work life. I'm extremely prone to easily tiring out and being unmedicated for my depression/anxiety means I almost always take a nap every day to reset myself. (meds have proven to be infinitely worse for my health so I'd rather not take anything).
NHL playoffs unfortunately thisd year have been meh with meh teams winning and a lotta boring quick series and matchups . mostly really good NBA playoffs this year though

Yeah no sport watching definitely helps but continues to make me the odd man out alot of the time and my new longshoring job
everybody just wants to talk about sports and it's mind boggling to me
