why is finding out Zelda's fate essentially meaningless when I can't tell anybody anyways and have to continue playing dumb and doing stuopid side quests because 'Zelda' told them to. more dumb ass character choices. If it's possible toi find Zelda's fate in 1 hour why do I have to go through the whole game pretnending to give a s*** about the dumbasses in the game

nah totk felt meh to me pretty quickly even though i did like it somewhat
bigger =/= better. depths boring af after the first 20 minutes. almost no reason to go down there and super repetitive. grinding the zionite felt like a chore after a while. almost no story relevance in the depths at all since master kohga storyline isnt essential. In In general, the depths are visually and mentally exhausting. Imagine a zelda game with only one Biome, but you can't see s*** and there are only 5 enemies for the entire game, and the music is non-existent and the entire atmosphere is depressing (but not Majora's Mask depression with story and depth, just depressing because it sucks so much). that's what the depths are and they suck ASSSSSS. story in general pretty much retcons and convolutes the established historical Zelda stroyline and totally f***s up the BOTW storyline. also, grabbing the tears in the wrong order can spoil the story. not that the story matters, but the whole thing is an absolute f***ing mess. The sky is fun but feels unfinished. Too many sky islands are just the same thing over and over. too sparse. They didb't fix the shrine/temple issue from the original. temples still suck except for Lightning temple. still too many shrines. every characters is an idiot compared to the first game. Sky islands and buliding make the game EZ mode and discourages exploration since you can just hoverbike and fast travel into the sky. Traversal is essentially optional leaving the exploration feeling thin compared to the wonder of the OG.
imo the game was a mistake to make and didnt fix or enhance any problems of the first game. but the first game issues get a pass since it was the first to do it. If they're deadset on open world, they need to at least bring back some form of linearity that establishes item progression in some way and MAKE TEMPLES GREAT AGAIN
