edit: major problem is that it's way too overblown. Kendrick isn't particularly skilled at crafting albums (good kid the exception tho). Cut For Sale?, Momma, You Ain't Gotta Lie and Complexion and you'd have a much tighter and more impactful album. Imagine i instantly following The Blacker The Berry without that bore You Ain't Gotta Lie in between.

How Much A Dollar Cost one of the greatest rap songs of the 2010s. As an atheist I still find the story a bit silly but Kendrick's storytelling is very powerful + arguably the best beat on this

King kunta is a f***ing banger man idk what you talking about that song used to go off at the function. One of the best bangers of the 2010s. I agree the album too long.

Blacker The Berry the only song I like on there IIRC. Album feels specifically not made for white boys.

Momma might be my favorite song on the album and it shores up key themes as well

I wouldn't cut any songs but definitely not that one

Idk i like Momma and For Sale?. For Free?, u, Complexion, YAGL are the weaker tracks for me

true YAGL and Complexion are easily the weakest tracks. The album just has too much contemplative/sleep-inducing stuff in the middle.

u would be among my favorites because of how dramatic and dark it is. others would be Wesley's Theory, These Walls, How Much A Dollar Cost, Hood Politics and maybe Institutionalized.

yup. one of the most out there Hip Hop albums with great guitar work and grooves. Sometimes sounds as if Lil B, Pragmatic Quartet and Royal Trux made a collab album. predates plenty of 10s trends.

Will def make my list. I'd like you to check if it's eligible. I'm unsure myself. tbf it's more of a Psych Rock record than Hip Hop but most people consider it mainly a Hip Hop album.

New Mario movie makes me worried we're getting Galaxy 3. Unless it's Open World I'd pass. Really hope they're coming up with something original.
