Yeah and it f***s you up so quickly. The girl i knew literally went from average high school freshman to f***ing Micheline in like a month. I moved away from that town shortly after she got out, but from what i could keep up with, it was a few years until she could actually do things on her own. She is still probably classified as mentally incompetent as an adult. Borderline Down's Syndrome stuff.

However she was fighting it in ICU for several weeks so it was just swimming through her brain eating holes. If your mom was only in hospital for a fraction of that time then it sounds like she was lucky and it didnt have much time to ravage her brain like it does for a lot of younger people. I would guess her prognosis is probably a lot better than most patients.
