Amazing piece of personal news:
My school handed out new contracts today and I graduated from probationary to permanent teacher going into year 3, which means no more administrative observations or evaluations for the next few years
I get total freedom and trust from my admin
Plus, they're paying me like a tenured employee: 12% raise. I'm going to clear six figures next year for the first time in my life
34 years old and making real money.
I remember in 2020 I couldn't find a job, felt totally unemployable and legit wanted to kill myself. Really glad I hung in there because today feels incredible.
Congrats

We do a lot of traditional English s***, I taught them Catcher in the Rye (through a trauma/psychoanalytical lens) and Fahrenheit 451, and we write essays and such because we have to.
But yeah they do a lot of fun stuff, they wrote and recorded their own podcasts, and this past week I've had them writing feature verses for their favorite songs to teach them lyric poetry (theme, rhyme scheme, syllable counts). Some kids are making beats and recording their verses for extra credit
@RASIE yeah this new Wallen slab has definitely got some heaters on it. only a few listens in, definitely a few that are more middling to me (expected) but plenty to like especially deeper into the tracklist

Panthers handling business on the Canes
Canes are frauds but man the Panthers look even better than last year. Would love a rematch against Edmonton cause I think Edmonton looks better this year as well
Or maybe the Metro division is just garbage. I think Florida's hardest matchup is probably Edmonton

Yeah f*** the panthers, I think the canes can beat them. Had an oilers v canes final in my bracket so that's shaping up nicely
Oh

I was kinda rooting for the Canes cause Rod Brind’Amour and Shayne Gostisbehere are former Flyers and the Panthers just won last year, but they got a good shot at repeating

But can the Knicks still win this ? :mystery:

Remember those 2000s Pacers teams
Malice at the Palace really f***ed any shot they had at winning it all

I’m going with the Pacers. They genuinely look like the better team and I don’t think it’s a fluky 2-0 lead

Broski I always thought Pacers Jermaine O’Neil was kinda underrated. He wasn’t KG or Duncan but still really solid
