What are your expectations for this new PTA/Pynchon/Leo collab?
I don't know anything about it
I go in as blind as possible for my goats
no way No Country is more accessible. The narrative structure alone makes it a more difficult watch than TWBB imo.
Asked my normie gf and she agrees No Country more accessible

it wears the mask of being a cat and mouse thriller, so I guess that makes sense
I feel like No Country more accessible
Alot funnier, less austere and actually has a female character lol
Man after years of watching the movie I don’t really remember the book. Actually thought the film was better
Where should I start with The Kinks music and Ray Davies solo stuff??

No problem
I've spent more than 20 years studying their first 10 years lol and every good hit, b-side, deep cut and gem that got lost in a vault is on there.

How do you go about studying them?
Also why the first ten years specifically?

Dragged my ass to the music store back in the day and bought all their CDs, read books, liner notes and forums to make sure I wasn't missing anything. They were so productive in that first ten years that a ton of gold that most other bands would kill for got lost in the chaos of the 60s music business.
I do a really slow chronological marination for artists of that calibre and now I'm kinda bogged down in their their overblown/overwrought mid 70s concept albums. Ray seriously overextended himself as this point but I still gotta put respect on it cause they're my favorite band.

Idk Reddit and Steve Hoffman or whatever else came up on google occasionally. That was definitely the resource I used the least cause I didn't even have internet when I first dove in. Mostly books.
Took half a century for this gem to escape the vaults and it's yet another
especially poignant for me this week

Preservation Act 2
it's pretty rough. Some Bolshevik bangers on there that had potential but he manages to overthink and f*** up every promising arrangement.
My Kinks assimilation is now synced up with my Best Songs thread so thatll be fun at least. Have only heard maybe 2 or 3 songs past '74.
That was one hellova game by the Knicks to come back after down 20
Celts shooting 60 3’s

Celtics are the most boring great team
I still think they’ll take the series, but that was a hell of a win for the Knicks

that was abysmal to watch

I'm not against the 3 point Revolution of today's NBA but this is just gross

And you have 6'9" Jayson Tatum chucking 15 3s on possessions where Jalen Brunson is guarding him

Closed my office door earlier and played this while working.
It's one of those days
