im guilty of it myself because i found it entertaining to talk about but its wild how much engagement they got with that list

yeah Miseducation is great but I cant say marinating on it for eons ever revealed and hidden depths or enveloped my psyche like 200 other albums have.

I remember when it came out well cause i was collecting The Source lol it was a big deal but not really something that made everybody stop in their tracks and take stock of this new world of potentialities that had been revealed or something... which is some hyperbole you could at least pretend to slap on some other albums.

Even in my lifetime I can remember Stankonia, MMLP and several Kanye albums doing that

Can't believe I'm defending this dumb list but I'm confused why Lauryn f***ing Hill at #1 is something to laugh at. At that point it's just not personally getting the album. With all political context surrounding the list removed, ... It's a fine pick.

That album gets more and more acclaim as the years go on. Is there an air of mystique around Lauryn that helps her out? Yes, but it's always been a great album

yeah I dont really care, its just banter. felt alot easier to do an all time album list when I first dove into rock history in the early 00's but it seems impossible these days. partly cause the subgenres subgenres have subgenres now, partly cause of how twitter etc politicize the ever loving s*** out of them.

But man I never claimed it was a bad record. I like plenty of songs from it. She has a fantastic voice. It’s just that if you imagine every recorded piece of music throughout history and you see the image of that album cover pop up out of all the ones you could consider—it’s just a little silly in the moment is all.

It's not like any of our all time lists would make any historical sense i really feel like they wanted to be somewhat modern, and yes, tick the box you mentioned
