I’m just hoping their approach was “let’s make this show how we think it would’ve been had it been made in 1997” and they didn’t inject too many modern sensibilities. X-Men is my second favorite capeshit cartoon after Batman: The Animated Series.
looks like people are loving it

I was talking to this old mainland Chinese guy at work last year who had just gotten back from doing a big WW2 nerd history tour of Europe, went to Normandy and a bunch of notable places
stupidly didn't realize people the far east would be into that but I asked him what he thought of Oppenheimer and he was like "thats a f***ing hero
"
no one despised the Japanese in WW2 like the Chinese. You talk to a lot of old Chinese people and they're still quite bitter about what happened (maybe rightfully so)
Were calling this 1972
wrong thread

Japan still hasn’t apologized for its crimes against rest of asia to this day lol

What's interesting is if you read some of the testimonies of Japanese generals who invaded cities like Nanking and Shanghai right before the war they openly admit to all the things they did, the torture, rape, necrophelia, etc. Sure there have been apologies since then but it's interesting when you contrast it with a country like Germany. Not only has Germany apologized but they carry the specter of their past around with so much shame that they'll put 90 year olds in prison today for simply being found to have been tower guards at places like Auschwitz 70 years after the fact. This is the German government imprisoning people today for acting under the orders of the.....German goverment. Sorry I'm just rambling at this point.
But yeah the genocide of the Chinese probably had as many murders as the Holocaust, yet not many people know about it or are taught about it in school. Especially not in Japan.

idk the far right party in Germany is making alot of waves lately so unfortunately I think both countries still have large contingents that would deny/not care about the horrors of ww2. its just that in Japan they are still running things.
and yeah if you add up all the atrocities Japan committed through not just China but the rest of Southeast Asia etc its right up there with the holocaust. Thats my initial point of all this is that I think its weird that everybody has always acted like America was the worst villain imaginable for nuking Japan, when Japan was also working on a bomb and clearly would have had no restraint on how they used it if they managed to make it first. Putin, Stalin, Mao etc etc like to criticize them for using the bomb (understandable as part of their rhetoric) but they wouldn't even exist if America didnt get there first. It was just by sheer luck as well that the Germans pivoted away from conceiving of nuclear energy as a weapon and more as an energy source. blew so many resources on so many other ridiculous concepts because physics was a "jewish science"

so which kinks albums have you heard?

from viewing Germany current actions it seems like they took the lessons in all the wrong way possibles lol but i think that’s more to do so putting all the blame of the holocaust on germany it should have been on the shoulders of all of europe, like i was reading Deatcamp Treblinka which gives survivors witness of it and most of the guards there were Ukrainian, and like the fact more dutch people joined the SS than the resistance
