El Tinku by Victor Jara not sure if any Japanese or Korean artist took folk elements from their culture and spruced it up into their version of classic rock but if they did I would listen

You read it right all these recs over all these years and not one keeper. Meanwhil RVI helping my pile of treasured music from South America get bigger every year.

This might be kind of racist, but I'm not hearing any actual Japanese or Korean elements in the music you're showing me. It could all easily be western music if you put an English singer on there. I want to hear a little bit of their own cultural history in the music. I cant get into the Latin artists that sound overly Anglo either.

Joe Hisaishi did the Studio Ghibli OSTs and a bunch of other films.

50s 60s japan has some classic soundtracks. I can come through with some recs tomorrow maybe. Woman In The Dunes Pendercki vibes for sure.

Also rewatched Harakiri recently and was really caught off guard by how well that OST elevates the film.

damn that's a bold statement d***head. you think maybe we just have very different music tastes cuz I don't f*** with a ton of psych rock you post. Or maybe you have a bad memory cuz I can think of countless things I've posted that you've liked.

To turn it around, can you even give me an example of one rec you've given me?

I've given plenty of Jazz recs, classical recs, I post world music from almost every country, (not just Asia) France, Mali (actually all of Western Africa) Serbia, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, Iceland, Melanesia, Italy, India, Portugal, Cuba, etc etc etc

Not my fault if it doesn't click with you or if you don't remember. Plenty of it has acclaim and I can't read your mind to know what you're gonna like/dislike.

As for "asian elements" Kpop is entirely derivative of American pop/rnb/hip hop. but it takes those elements and in my opinion produces a far more interesting product than the majority of Western pop.

If you want me to post traditional Korean songs or classical Asian music I can, but I can't see you liking it and then you'll complain about more duds from a genre you were never going to like in the first place.
