So did your fandom
cold
It was like "he's dead. OK I'll be listening to him more the next couple weeks." and then I stopped listening to him entirely.

Something happened on the day he died
Fandom rose a metre then stepped aside
he just thinks Station To Station is overrated
No that's me but it's been a few years

It was both of you
At least you came around on Yeezus

That Lemon Twigs was great
The harmonies were so pure they almost went from Beach Boys to Off The Wall era MJ
needless to say I hated Everyday Is The Worst Day Of My Life tho
f***ing crybabies

I enjoy that song, but I totally get it. I’m really happy you liked the rest of the album. It’s filled with highlights, but What Happens To a Heart is probably my favorite.
nm thinking of JIK
On the other hand TLOP and 808s both probably jumped over or at least tied with LR at #3 now. Not that I like LR less but I like the other 2 more than before
Think i put it in my top 10. Good but not great
Did you not listen to a lot of new albums?
Top 10 for me is basically a masterpiece lol

I listened to about 35-40 last year with multiple listens and maybe another 10 one listens.
10 masterpieces in a year seems pretty far-fetched imo. I'd only give like 3-4 albums last year an 8/10.
I'm also usually a couple years behind on music. Keeping up all the time is a chore and I'll just listen to albums that intrigue me after the fact

That makes sense
I listened to 281 new albums last year so top 10 is the top 3% of everything I heard
Can't remember how many 9/10+ masterpiece type ratings I gave out, probably 8-9 of them. I'm picky about that top tier.
The Lemon Twigs album was really solid, but I'm such a big fan of their 70s power pop influences that to me it just sounded like stuff I've already heard and enjoy. I should listen to it again.

This song is so up my alley that it's practically begging me to love it lol it's just Big Star

Had a really great LR listen today, probably move it up a notch to 8.5
808s and TLOP always been 10/10 for me though

Yeah I feel like I only hear one masterpiece every 3-5 years lol

No offense but 280 albums in a year sounds like some robotic AI listening strategy bullshit
Even if I tried for that and was unemployed or something I don't think I'd do that cause it sounds like a monotonous exercise rather than actually sitting down with what you like.
Not saying you don't but you seem to have a lot going on in life and other art outlets you enjoy. 280 is fantano numbers and his job is to s*** out reviews after 3-5 listens
Unless you're listening to every single album only once, but then you're reaching scaruffi territory who decides what is and isn't good after 1 listen
The most I did in a year was probably 60 or so in 2018 and that was extremely overwhelming keeping up with new stuff and constantly keeping the favorites in rotation to stay fresh
