pull up with your ranking then
im with you that those albums are at least decent (11-13 are pretty much tied anyway) but cant justify any of them above anything from 1980-2000. and even Rattle and Hum just cuz a few of those studio cuts are so great
hope you're not a Pop detractor, that one could honestly move up a few spots with more time
Zooropa and Pop are great. The first three as well but just not touching No Line or Innocence.
Unforgettable Fire
Rattle and Hum

agree on about half of Rattle and Hum but All I Want Is You, Angel of Harlem, and Heartland are amazing
cant believe the unforgettable fire disrespect. didnt think any U2 fan would question it as one of their core classics even though Elvis Presley and America is mid

havent you still refused to even listen to one of their albums
the one that comes before those 2 you stan?
bizarre marination tactic if ive seen one
Yeah idk I just have no desire to listen to All You Can't Leave Behind cause the singles were so overplayed. no idea when Ill get to Atomic Bomb. I thought the singles from it sucked d*** when it came out and I doubt that's changed.

I know its controversial but idk album is boring as s***. Doesnt approach the transcendence it thinks it does but Pride is good.
Im in no shape to accurately rank u2 ATM sorry. Your #1 looks good though. One of those albums that never stops growing.

my last big u2 phase was when I compiled all their b-sides and s*** and I overplayed them so took a break.... which (just checked) was in 2020
thought it was like last year
Is Yeezus the best workout album ever?
The answer is yes
Probably but it's too personally precious and powerful to listen to while working out

none of the b-sides sunk in as a highlight for me, just some very good ones mostly from joshua tree and achtung baby eras
was starting to compile a list of my U2 highlights then realized it just basically looks like any generic "U2 greatest hits"
even including beautiful day.
then just a few other cuts like Red Hill Mining Town, Whos Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, Like a Song, Staring at the Sun, and Stay added

It's the ultimate motivator when I'm having a slow start to my workout. I Am a God kicking my ass rn

Don't have one atm but it would be mostly deep cuts cause I am very sick of their hits. I don't think I ever really heard One till I listened to Achtung, luckily. Was immediately floored by that chord progression.

IAAG man what a soundscape
I keep trying to get you to listen to their album from last year lol. It would definitely fit in with the vibe of the early 70’s stuff you’ve been listening to for the songs of the year thread.
Fine I'll check it out. I think I just found some Fellacore this week you should hear;
@drjdeponytail
I always thought Eric Roberts would play a great Epstein in a Lifetime bio flick
I was a massive Eric Roberts fan when I was a kid
