Big up that dead lad with the good kidneys

fosho, none of my business but I think everyone should elect to be a an organ donor if you get a chance when renewing your drivers license. I know I always will be in the future

might be misremembering with my older self. I think I actually loved the whole thing at the time but Wake Me Up grew off me the quickest

you must be misremembering the most moving song on the album no way you're 10 year old self wasn't shattered into pieces when those drums come in at 1:27 and the song erupts into full rock opera melodrama

some pretty good (and extremely unexpected) news to share. The hospital found someone on the cadaver list to give a kidney to my mother (in other words, someone died who was a match for my mother) The chance of someone being a match with her was extremely low due to the amount of antibodies in her system as a consequence of a blood transfusion two years ago. We also didn't expect a donor for at least several years to be found because the average waiting time is usually around 5 years for a new kidney, and it's only been one year so far. The life expectancy of Kidney failure (without a donation) is about 5 years as well, so finding a Kidney in only a year is a bit of a miracle. My mom is on her way to the hospital right now, so hopefully it should all be done in the next few days.

This is also a bit surreal/shocking for me, since I've been mentally preparing myself for about 8 months to be a donor myself and taking all these tests, it's a little weird to not have that responsibility anymore. At this point I had considered it inevitable to be donating sometime in the next 6 months or so. I'm still processing it all... not entirely sure how to feel but I guess it's a good thing.

I guess I'm in the clear to start binge drinking again, y'all

Was watching Miami Vice and got to an episode guest starring Pam Grier and John Turturro. Really good episode, but the way they used a Foreigner song was incredible. Like I usually hate that band, but they took I Wanna Know What Love Is and used it so perfectly that it elevated the song into something weirdly powerful and haunting.

Showed this to my friend recently when she said she needed a laugh after watching 4000 movies together I don't think I've ever heard her crack up harder than when those two sad sack toy salesman were arguing lol

Miami Vice was the essence of 80’s cool. Those pastels, the music, the city :datass: I think Mann had something to do with the show too

Yeah he was a hands on producer for the first couple seasons. Then that idiot D*** Wolf came in and made the show more generic.

That is very disappointing to hear. You have such a sophisticated taste in music list mon

Tbf I can understand someone not liking it especially if they’re not that into arthouse type stuff

Maybe you’d like Songs from The Second Floor better. Or if you check out his short film World of Glory I feel like you might dig that

Yeah was revisiting it today, I forgot how funny it was. When the balding salesman puts on the vampire teeth I always start cracking up. Just such a ridiculously hilarious/depressing situation. The ending/penultimate scenes to the film still hit me hard tho
I think the man in the beginning of Du Levande trying out his tablecloth trick on the huge fancy dining table, failing miserably and pulling everything off the table, then getting sentenced to death for it in the next scene might be the funniest thing I’ve seen in a film of his
