My friend moved to LA for a couple years but from what I've seen that place is a cesspool/playground for narcissists. Don't think I could see myself moving there.
Think I'd hit Portland if I were to fly over there, or San Francisco. LA seems like a fun place to party for a bit but by all accounts yeah it's toxic and weird af.
My hippy mom us to get so visible flustered when a lady with too much perfume would get in our vicinity in public that it would embarrass the s*** out of us as kids but now I'm absolutely the same way
I got a real strong sense of smell so it f***ing kills me
you don't got a cologne collection?
u gotta get on that wave broski
I wanna move to The Greater Idaho and jam some Idaho
Why Idaho haha? I think if I moved to Idaho I'd develop a major depression and get addicted to them opiates

Idaho and a big chunk of Oregon is still beautiful. There’s a petition to turn a portion of Oregon into “The greater Idaho” because it wants nothing to do with Portland
Dude I’ve seen too many lives completely lost or ruined to ever f*** with opioids. I’ve never been into d**** or alcohol tbh

I have one givenchy cologne I use sparingly for the odd occasion where I need to smell like pampered flowery man
gf likes it but I barely use it

I know so many alcoholics, the older I get the more I feel like it's a blessing I have no desire to drink

This post just gave Koala tremendous pause

my greatest achievement in 2023 was giving up habitual heavy drinking. really has made such a difference. though we probably have vastly different definitions of "heavy". Had this old doctor assigned to me and she thought having 6 drinks every two weeks would be too hard on me
I think the Spaceman 10k Pro Juicy Rainbow Ice is beating out the Elfbar BC5000 Pineapple Strawnanna in both flavor and mouth feel y'all
looks like there's a new king

i crack myself up sometimes lul i'm so dumb

Issey Miyake 'L'Eau d'Issey' Pour Homme in the summer
right now I'm using Bvlgari Man Glacial Essence and Dior Sauvage
Yeah I just forget them immediately so then basically don't exist
I did have one wicked lucid dream when I was like 20 where I found Thor's hammer and was trying to learn how to fly around our valley with it for hours
Also had a few lottery winnings dreams that were so depressing when I woke up I wanted to die
hol up you told me you wouldn't want to win a billion dollars if given the chance, even got a little sassy with me about it
hmm I actually don't totally agree that it's nonsense because usually I can connect about 50% of the dream with actual things happening in my life, usually in a somewhat abstract way, but sometimes not that abstract. but i'd say like at least 50 percent of it is bullshit.
the Freudian idea of dream a***ysis is definitely not totally correct but is pretty interesting to think about since we still don't really have any idea why we dream or where they come from. like what is the fabric/form of dreams or even consciousness, are images of consciousness purely metaphysical or somewhat physical in nature?
I think I told you of this essay Cormac wrote about the subconscious/dreams, and the Kekulé problem. really nice short little essay I'd still recommend and you can see its influence in his final two books. I appreciate him for writing a great essay that isn't academic/jargony sounding whatsoever. He was the man
https://nautil.us/the-kekul-problem-236574/
"I call it the Kekulé Problem because among the myriad instances of scientific problems solved in the sleep of the inquirer Kekulé’s is probably the best known. He was trying to arrive at the configuration of the benzene molecule and not making much progress when he fell asleep in front of the fire and had his famous dream of a snake coiled in a hoop with its tail in its mouth—the ouroboros of mythology—and woke exclaiming to himself: “It’s a ring. The molecule is in the form of a ring.” Well. The problem of course—not Kekulé’s but ours—is that since the unconscious understands language perfectly well or it would not understand the problem in the first place, why doesnt it simply answer Kekulé’s question with something like: “Kekulé, it’s a bloody ring.” To which our scientist might respond: “Okay. Got it. Thanks.”
Why the snake? That is, why is the unconscious so loathe to speak to us? Why the images, metaphors, pictures? Why the dreams, for that matter......"
......."The picture-story lends itself to parable. To the tale whose meaning gives one pause. The unconscious is concerned with rules but these rules will require your cooperation. The unconscious wants to give guidance to your life in general but it doesnt care what toothpaste you use. And while the path which it suggests for you may be broad it doesnt include going over a cliff. We can see this in dreams. Those disturbing dreams which wake us from sleep are purely graphic. No one speaks. These are very old dreams and often troubling. Sometimes a friend can see their meaning where we cannot. The unconscious intends that they be difficult to unravel because it wants us to think about them. To remember them. It doesnt say that you cant ask for help. Parables of course often want to resolve themselves into the pictorial. When you first heard of Plato’s cave you set about reconstructing it."
Sorry should've clarified that I stopped doing it because my dreams specifically were such nonsense that I just couldn't be bothered trying to piece it all together or even keep track of it. I remember having several dreams dreams about wayne rooney dying at the time lol.
Yeah I'll actually bookmark it this time and read it at a more suitable time (when I'm not 1.5 beers deep watching darts). I learnt about some dream a***ysis at school but can't remember any of it, just know that I then desperately tried to teach myself how to start lucid dreaming

Yeah but beer is good
@branmalt merry xmas

Listening to OMD’s Crush album and yeah sure it’s a pop course correction to the experimentation of their prior record, but it’s still damn good pop.
Not watched yet

I was just reading Nietzsche and opened ktt2 and your gif was the first thing I saw lol
