I need to listen to more Nick Lowe. I’ve had Cruel To Be Kind stuck in my head for weeks now.
@Very_Based have you thought of a playlist you wanna trade yet
busy until after the holiday this weekend. tbh we have very different music tastes so I'd have to give it some thought. maybe i'll curate a playlist for you

I saw him open for Elvis earlier this year
and it made me want to check him out but then I forgot lol thanks. He was quite good. Nice skinny old tall guy swagger with some rockabilly vibes.
They did a big Peace Love Understand finale which Nick wrote and Elvis made iconic

Did you get to Imperial Bedroom yet? I finally did and it's the first Elvis that has me
since TYM

Yeah it’s very good, but I think Armed Forces is still my favorite.

I marinated on that for YEARS and nothing

That’s wild. I think it has easily his most memorable songs. Accidents Will Happen, Oliver’s Army, Peace Love and Understanding, and this

!https://youtube.com/watch?v=dgLT4G563Ds&si=HSBkkn4V0C9_oKphYeah I know all the songs all too well. The arrangements and Costello's fury are much more interesting on TYM. Steve Nieve f***ing snapped.

I mean I like This Years Model a lot. It’s just individual songs don’t stand out to me nearly as much. When I think Elvis Costello it’s Armed Forces that comes to mind first.

and for me its (I Dont Want To Go To) Chelsea, The Beat, Hand In Hand, Lipstick Vogue, Little Triggers
some of my all time favourite songs by anybody. One of those album where every word sank in and I could sing along to the whole album without even having to look up any lyrics.
Yeat more like Bleat cause hes the GOAT am I right

Well thankfully you’re in the minority on not totally feeling Armed Forces. At least I don’t feel crazy for liking it the most lol. I will marinate more on This Years Model. Been a bit since I’ve gone back to it.

His wordplay by Imperial Bedroom was comically ridiculous check that one out
