i never got off the habit of downloading music. and never hopped onto streaming.

Organizing the library takes time but so do hobbies in general

i mean if the itunes store or something equally as convenient didn't exist i probably would just stream cos i agree that finding download links is too much hassle + now that i work in intellectual property law, it would seem at bit off if i went home from that job and started pirating music in the evening. i am still attached to having control over my music collection tho.

Completely get the attachment to having control over over your music collection - I was like that until my ipod died a few years ago

What do you guys that don't stream use for listening to stuff on the go? You still got working iPods or do you chuck it all on your phone?

Still got several 160GB iPods plus a couple smaller ones

    why?
I stream each of the new albums i'm somewhat interested in each Friday morning (in shower, over breakfast, walking to work), then on Friday evening buy the ones that were worthwhile
that way I don't waste time or harddrive space (even tho I have 4.5 TB of free space) on downloading stuff that I don't care about
like, i'm not down for streaming in general, but it has its uses, particularly for tentative first listens

That sounds like a good system that works for you I have mine it also works

But u Netflix? But you watch YouTube? You confusing. You download games but are paranoid of playing online or even adding network friends but stay on Letterboxd

Who the f*** told you I have Netflix? :pacspit: never. YouTube is free and has content I actually care about so I don't see the comparison. What do you mean paranoid of playing online? Lol I never said that. I said I only play multiplayer videogames with friends sitting beside me cause I'm old school, Janice. LB a whole other beast too. You're all over the place with this post sufibezels.

yeah what does paranoia have to do with that? i dont play online multiplayer games and i never will. some of the best times i ever had as a kid was mariokart and goldeneye etc with my friends who were actually there with me. the gaming industry phasing that out is disgusting and i refuse to support it.

streaming music would take away one of my favourite aspects of being a music nerd... finding a cool new artist or band... doing the treasure hunt to compile all their singles, loosies and b sides etc and doing the research to make sure i have it all perfectly organized, chronological etc. its like yall dont even know me

tbh id wager i know the discographies of all the artists i like much more intimately than streamers because of my methodology
