man this novel has been phenomenal so far. love seeing Murakami go all in on themes he only touched on in his other novels like adultery and romantic love.love the rotating cast of weird, mysterious characters, even though the way he writes May Kasahara’s character is kinda hilariously melodramatic and off kilter at times lmao.
btw you need that Kafka On the Shore in your life next

i’ve read that criticism of his writing so many times, but May Kasahara is the first time i’m legitimately like “aight cmon now bro” with some of the s*** he has her saying and doing.
luckily i can appreciate lil quirks like that even just for the laughs. Mamiya seems like a good dude fr, his parts really were insane.

The first two are very classic and Juju especially goes deep as hell but maybe try PEEEPSHOW
