Watched I Walked With a Zombie. Still don’t quite get the overwhelming love that or Cat People seem to get. I like it more than the latter but it’s hardly the obvious masterpiece some make it out to be.

I haven’t but I’m planning on it this month. I picked a bunch of horror films from every decade to watch this season and that was one of them I chose from the 40’s. Maybe my least favorite decade for the genre.

I don’t think it was a terrible decade, but the volume just wasn’t there. The genre was pretty much nonexistent from 1946-1950.

It also just doesn’t have an interesting identity like any of the other decades.

I’m not a fan but I get why people like it. It’s worth giving a shot.

Listening to The Cure - P***ography for the first time in awhile, i always forget how f***ing cold and dark this album is, especially compared to their more popish stuff. Its f***ing brutal and a masterpiece

Letterboxd can stink cause you’ll be scrolling and see a review from someone you follow where they dismiss an element of a film that really emotionally affected you. For example there’s this one ballad produced by Ennio Morricone from a 70’s horror movie that I think is a really beautiful song and I just saw it called “horrible” and it kinda stung a little lol. Maybe I need to just not care what other people think.

Letterboxd reviews in general are just kinda deflating if you're looking for real discussion about the films. 85% of the reviews are just attempts at witty quips to gain likes

You’re right, but it’s more the dismissive attitude that bugs me—especially in relation to something that moved me. Like when I don’t like an element of art I try to recognize that it just doesn’t mesh with my sensibilities without outright disregarding it.

I hate that you cant see ratings on films your friends have seen. Like where the f*** is the option
