I don't know anything about this guy
I guess there's ingrained political reasons why North Ireland artists are less honored down here but it's gonna boil down to the same Catholic vs Protestant drama I've never been able to wrap my head around

Yeah meant to mention Thin Lizzy as well. I still just know The Boys Are Back In Town which I always hated.

Guitar Hero classic
yeah that was a funny movie
i thought White Noise was funny as well, but i know barely any of y’all f*** with Baumbach
More like Bumfuck
I don’t care about the preachiness. It seems pretty ironic from what I’ve seen and looks to be the kind of movie where you can project whatever politics you have onto it. My issue is with supporting a toy commercial. I’ll maybe check it out when it hits streaming.
s*** was seriously groan inducing

I f***ing hate him
Barbie was better overall imo but Oppenheimer had way better highs.
don't know. Barbie's first 30 minutes are fantastic but kind of loses focus of what it wants to convey so that it's at the end even more fragmented than Oppenheimer to me. to me it's Gerwig's weakest feature to date. It's def fun tho
Oppenheimer has many unnecessary scenes (that affair in particular should have been left out completely imo) but it comes together in the end with a far bigger and sincere payoff than Barbie to me.

Middle in real world def drags but the last 40 minutes is fantastic and I don't think I've ever laughed so hard In the theater than at the pavement joke
I dont really care about the messaging or the corporate slop argument. In many ways every movie that's come out of Hollywood in the last 100 years peddles capitalism, global war and operates as a function of American soft power. This one is just more on the nose than most.

Interstellar and Oppenheimer really peak like 70% of the way through them, both with a 1-2 punch of a huge set piece and then an emotionally devastating comedown. Water planet -> video diary and bomb -> rally are like two of his best achievements. Would prefer the entire movie be a little more even tho
barbie might have been better if baumbach hadn't been involved tbh. everything he makes drips of pretension. dude is also just a massive piece of s*** in general.

Rich coming from the person that helps market American good which adds to their soft power
